Jul 9, 2015The Great hip-hop album. That one the revitalised the genre and gave it a new life with impeccable wordplay and storytelling. The spacious and layered beats, the songwriting, the skits, the perfect way that the track-list is lade out. Almost 3 years later, no album came close to matching the conceptualized beauty of "good kid, m.A.A.d. city".
-
Jul 8, 2015Great album all around deserves a 9.5/10 almost perfect IMO it worked perfectly with every beat and also all of the verses had deep meanings the chorus' had great work done on them **** don't Kill my vibe lol anyways it was amazing you should enjoy it if you like Rap.

May 9, 2020Top 5 Tracks: Sing About Me I’m Dying Of Thirst, The Recipe, mAAd City, 13itch Dont Kill My Vibe, The Art Of Peer Pressure
96/100 -
Feb 3, 2021This album is a hip-hop classic. Kendrick provides a story of his youth in Compton over great production. The album is very thematic and almost plays out like a movie when I listen to it. My favorite tracks are m.A.A.d city, Backseat Freestyle, Money Trees, Poetic Justice, and Swimming Pools (Drank).
-
Aug 28, 2023A perfect letter to Compton. That's all I can say to sum this up, not only does it have songs that are still listenable and fresh today, but really it has no bad moment. Even 'Real' which people say is bad, still has an absolutely massive amount of appeal to me. The sophomore slump was truly avoided here in one of, if not the greatest albums from the 2010s.

Dec 12, 2013The production oozes Dre, and Kendrick's flow and vocal variance (e.g. m.A.A.d city vs. Art of Peer Pressure) contribute a more complex, multi-faceted approach to gangsta rap. GKMC is like no other album out there, and how it revived and evolved 90s hip-hop makes this an instant classic.

Oct 4, 2019It deserves about a 9.2+ because it is literally Kendrick and he has TPAB bruh. This should be the album you have to listen to get into Kenny so yeah. Ahead of it's time as well.

Jul 26, 2020Every single track is fire, cant say anything bad about this album. .......

Apr 21, 2021A cultural masterpiece, Good kid, M.A.A.D city has explosive beats, perfect story telling, double entendre and creative rhymes. It's best song has to be M.A.A.D city with MC Eiht is an incredible song and very popular amongst Lamar fans. From top to bottom all song are great and chilling. Would recommend.
-
Sep 10, 2021Good Kid, M.A.A.D City is an intricate self portrait and wonderfully told story of a good kid in a mad city. The project explores interesting themes of growing up in the ghetto, that is Compton and what it's like dealing with such a difficult childhood. Every track explores something new and delivers every time. This album is a true work of art in my mind.
-
May 18, 2022Just one another classic for Kendrick Lamar the goat, the greatest discography of al time
-
May 13, 2022‘Good Kid Maad City’ - Kendrick mastering the art of story telling, hit making and showing he’s ready to be the next up.

Oct 31, 2012An album to change a whole music genre. Much like Nas' Illmatic, it transcends all the influences from his favorite artists and simply creatively outdoes all of their releases in the last 10 years. By the way these rappers include, Jay-Z, Tupac, Eminem, Biggie and Nas.

Mar 25, 2021I absolutely love this album, the story is just brilliant, and Kendrick was able to tell this story without sacrificing the overall musical quality. not quite on the level of TPAB, but it is still brilliant, and one of the best albums of the 2010s
-
Aug 21, 2022Instant classic! Kenny started to make his mark here and showed why he was becoming the greatest in the coming years. A cinematic movie of an album.

Sep 13, 2013One of the best albums I've heard from any genre. Kendrick Lamar just might be the savior hip hop needs. Best word to describe this album: Perfection.
-
Dec 6, 2013This is a classic, arguably the greatest hip hop album ever. The album is a masterpiece, on the same level as Illmatic as far as albums go. Each song takes you on a journey. This is my favorite album of all time, regardless of genre.

May 30, 2015I didn't like this album for over two years after it came out. It wasn't until early 215 when I gave it a re-listen after probably 6 months that I realized it was miles ahead of any other rap album I had heard. If only "Real," which is a terrible song, hadn't been included...
-
Aug 11, 2015Best album of 2012 hands down. This is not for your average rap head. To enjoy this album you must have some type of intelligence (IN THERE.....GET IT.....In THERE, LOL). The album is a classic, a banger, and some more. Play it. Buy it. Enjoy it.

-
Nov 1, 2012some great tracks and some really average ones. too much talk of 'sucking my d***' and fake talk of shooting guns for his lyrics to be top notch. he is very creative with his approach though. i wish i liked this more than i do.

Oct 24, 2012This is a great rap album. Artistically its a masterpiece. That's not something you can say about a rap album too often. Kendrick paints a picture of a day in his life of a young guy living in a rough city. The real story!

Nov 17, 2013The best hip-hop/rap album of 2012. Section.80 sure as hell got my curiosity, but Good Kid, M.A.A.D City had my attention. Every production of this album is solid. All the tracks are easy to fall in love with. A masterpiece.

Mar 3, 2014This is the best album I have ever heard. Kendrick Lamar deserves the title King Kendrick Lamar. The beats are weird but so amazing. The best two songs from the album are: Backseat Freestyle and m.A.A.d City. The track I could have done without is: Real. So I give this album a 10 out of 10. Thanks for reading.

Mar 20, 2015The ONLY reason I DIDN'T give this a 10 is because I JUST listened to TPAB and THAT album really took away from this album... but that's a good thing, for Kendrick. It proves, to me, that he grew into something beyond special. His storytelling is out of this world. This is the album I thought would be his peak... but I was clearly wrong!

Apr 22, 2017A classic hip-hop record in every respect. The album is able to reach a large audience while addressing important social issues of the time and continuing to be musically innovative.
-
Jun 11, 2019This album is a work of art. Listen from start to finish when you have time to just take your mind off everything else. Easily one of the best and most cohesive hip-hop albums of our lifetime
-
Jan 6, 2018Good Kid, M.A.A.D. City is what everyone was hoping for. An album that gave back to true hip hop heads in a commercial landscape. The album tells a tale of a good kid in a m.a.a.d city and delivers track after track of fire. Kendrick gets you caught up in lyrics and delivers what will go down as one of the best albums of this era.
-
Feb 8, 2018It is a wonderful and very creative album. The story is great, musically it's very good and lyrically brilliant.
-
Jan 22, 2020It automatically takes you to the life of "innocent kendrick you've seen in the street with a basketball and some now n laters to eat" in the belly of the beast.
-
May 26, 2021This album is absolutely phenomenal! Everything about it is great, from the sequenced track list, the incredible storytelling and lyricism as well as the impeccable production. The only song that I wasn’t crazy about was Real, though all the other tracks easily make up for it. Words cannot describe how much I love this album.
-
May 13, 2022Simply no bad tracks and a storybook from start to finish. It’s a different sound than Section 80 but Kendrick goes on to include new stories and takes listeners through a journey with a little bit of jazz and funk to emotionally engage the listener. Best rap album of the year.
-
Jun 17, 2022top 3 hip hop/rap albums of all time along with to pimp a butterfly and illmatic, truly inspiring
-
Aug 26, 2022I did kind of find this album kind of boring at some times. But Kendricks storytelling and naration was pretty good. I think Kendricks flow was good. The production was good. I think the album overall souunded great.
-
May 18, 2023amazing storytelling on this album. the singles work on their own, and add amazingly to the narrative of this project. really an amazing example of how to tell a story through music.

Oct 22, 2012Absolutely an instant classic. Every song has incredible production. Kendrick's lyrics are some of the best ever heard on a hip hop album, and it is amazing how his album follows a story line, often resulting in songs that have unique beat changes or skits in them. Overall this really is a 10/10 album, an instant classic, and the official crowning of a new king of hip hop. King Kendrick Lamar.

Jan 9, 2013This album is great. Most of the time I prefer underground rap because of the high level of lyricism they always use. Kendrick Lamar isn't underground but he delivers with a totally unique flow. You can tell that he's very comfortable on the mike, and i'm very comfortable listening. Very nice album.

Feb 17, 2013Album of the year.... Instant classic, anyone else agree? With this album, Kendrick Lamar not only solidifies himself as a true lyricist, but he proves he can take on the difficult task of delivering a concept album and brings together the best of both worlds

Jan 24, 2013The quotidian problems and longings of the title track making up the real heart of the album, a rough and tumble struggle to the top.
-
Jan 10, 2013In another rapper's hands the concepts might have been overcooked or the messages too self-righteous, but Kendrick manages to achieve scale while remaining firmly grounded on two feet.
-
Dec 21, 2012This is the best rap album of 2012--not just because of champion verses and immaculate drops, but because they recognize that the most brilliant foreground only shines against a well-defined backdrop.
