These trips to the dark side add even more depth to an album that's a significant step forward for Blank Realm, and some of their most enjoyable music yet.

Blank Realm is still bent on mixing the diamonds with the rough, and on Grassed Inn that particular swirl is at its most intoxicating.

By making concessions to clarity, Blank Realm have only amplified their inherent weirdness. As such, this thing is a fucking kick in the pants.

The band's love of jamming bears fruit when they find a real groove on "Bulldozer Love." [Feb 2014, p.71]

Grassed Inn is a good album, but the style and songwriting gets repetitive, causing it to be a bit hit-and-miss. Falling Down the Stairs, BellGrassed Inn is a good album, but the style and songwriting gets repetitive, causing it to be a bit hit-and-miss. Falling Down the Stairs, Bell Tower, and Bulldozer Love are all brilliant songs and easily the best on the record. Expand
