‘Here Is Everything’ lands in the sweet spot; it’s creatively ambitious, pushing the quartet into new ground, but it does so with a renewed sense of fun.

Here Is Everything presents a band laid bare (the whole record crafted together in drummer Fern Ford’s spare room studio). And, like the Harvest Moon casting its welcome glow, it’s a beacon of endurance and survival. Celestial magic.

After a handful of stirring ballads set to create further communal festival experiences, Here Is Everything peaks with Magic, golden funk worthy of Odelay-era Beck. The album cover depicts singer Jules Jackson during her pregnancy: her band have given birth to something magical here.

A revealing, continually powerful set of songs, ‘Here Is Everything’ is a fantastically engaging experience, arguably the strongest set The Big Moon have placed their name against.

From their pen through to their sound, ‘Here Is Everything’ is emotive and glossy; one that gives space to breathe in this busy world.

Overall, on their third record, The Big Moon stay true to their title and lay bare all that they have. They’ve shown us their rawest moments and the deepest parts of their psyche and said, simply, “Here is everything”.

The earthbound "This Love", shuffling along on metallic, moody guitar, and the twining, spaghetti-western eeriness of "Sucker Punch" are more engaging, but Here Is Everything could use more of the punch that lists the standout "Trouble". [Nov 2022, p.25]

It bares its soul as lead singer Juliette Jackson takes us to a place that this band has not gone before. Peeling back the onion on all sorts of emotions for her during and after her pregnancy made for what I am sure was a challenging album to create, but one that was so worth the wait. Sucker Punch, Trouble, Wide Eyes, This Love, & Magic all hit the mark easily and Here is Everything is a welcome addition to The Big Moon catalog, Now, about that USA tour... Expand
