Hero Brother is a beautiful collection of experimental instrumental songs.

Hero Brother stands very much alone as an artistic statement, calmly ravishing and emotionally centered.

Her playing, while technically impressive, may not have quite Stetson's jaw-dropping virtuosity, but her pieces have a highly comparable mesmeric, minimalist intensity. [No. 101, p.58]

[An] intense and atmospheric instrumental debut. [Sep 2013, p.92]

There's no question Hero Brother is a tremendously accomplished series of recordings that hold together as a whole, but one also gets the sense of being at the beginning of a journey that could get better as the years go by.

Overall though, this is a special album, and a real accomplishment. To make a record largely of solo violin music with songs played as impeccably as this, but have the performance itself not be the focus, is remarkable.

It's not exciting, but intimate and beautiful. [Aug-Sep 2013, p.98]

Hero Brother is a carefully conceived yet relaxed presentation of a fairly startling series of works that reveal the versatility and considerable creative depth of a composer/soloist who has been hiding in plain sight all along.

Hero Brother takes a few listens to fully understand, but the effort is rewarding and captivating.
