In destroying himself, Chasny has unearthed deeper, simpler fundamentals in his craft and, in doing so, breathed new life into his musical voice. With Hexadic II, Six Organs of Admittance is born again.

Despite the complexity of the system that produced Hexadic II, the songs and sounds measure up to the setup itself.

At times the album becomes a little difficult to follow, with the momentum failing during the twists and turns of songs such as the slightly ponderous 'Vile Hell'. However Chasny often manages to claw back interest by adding slight colouring to the stark instrumental palette.

Hexadic II is another fresh turn for Chasny as Six Organs of Admittance. It seems no matter the path he takes, he always covers a lot of ground.

These are beautiful, rather unsettling pieces that feel almost right, almost wholly natural, and yet just off.

Not as violent as Hexadic but no less unsettling, this is a strange and fascinating album from an artist who continues to evolve. [Feb 2016, p.80]

If the phosphorus-hot psychedelia of their first Hexadic record was too much for some ears, this subtly chance-infused union of magick and method should prove more inviting. [Jan 2016, p.90]
