There’s a lot going on here, as required by any worthwhile slate of electronica, and Greene streamlines the grooves, tempos, beats and boom bap in a meaningful way.

High Anxiety could have been reduced to its 12 most essential tracks and been a bit better suited for more invested listening, but perhaps Green's goal was to give himself as much room as possible to experiment, and he certainly does so here.

Despite hiding behind the veil of electronic experimentation, Thom Sonny Green has taken a brave step forwards.
  4. 60
The overall effect is less like an album and more like a digitally created scrapbook--a dreamy, transportive audio roadtrip through fuzzy urban noise and peaceful rural serenity.

Overlong, and sounding a little like a lot of other things, High Anxiety nonetheless reveals an unexpected talent hidden in plain sight.

The tracks' durations are, to these ears, not wisely distributed and this is possibly the album's biggest drawback.

Not all of High Anxiety works fantastically, but there is still great music to be found, and a consistent sonic “theme” throughout does a mutable job of keeping your attention throughout the project.
