  • Summary: The oh-so-punny industrial rockers return with, believe it or not, their 10th LP (although that does include their early synth-pop releases when they were scary for very different reasons).

  1. Leaning closer towards the fiercer end of the guitar spectrum, 'Molé' is a splurge of intense and angry songs, a reaction to the filthy Bush era.
  2. One of the band's mightiest and most consistent records.
  3. It's as enlightened and as interesting as Ministry has been in years.
  4. With Molé, Jourgensen has mobilized the fatalism and fury that always rumbled through industrial and thrash music, and left everything else in the staging area.
  5. Houses of the Molé is signed, sealed, and delivered so powerfully that one can overlook the fact that it's basically Psalm 69 or The Mind Is a Terrible Thing to Taste Part II.
  6. As nihilistic and hostile as ever.

Let alone the well-appreciated political intention of this magnificent album, it musically is a masterpiece of modern music in general.

The sound and feel of this album take me back to the better parts of Land of Rape and Honey. There is a sense of originality that has felt The sound and feel of this album take me back to the better parts of Land of Rape and Honey. There is a sense of originality that has felt lacking in the later releases. I was happily surprised by this disc since writing them off after Darkside of the Spoon. There are points, however, where Al, Paul and party seem to get suck in the same riff, as they have often done. Those moments keep this album from getting a better score as they happen much too often. If you like Ministry, you'll most likely enjoy this album. If you don't but are interested, find a copy of the 3 disc Box collection instead. Collapse
