    I like the first tracks, they are wonderful. And Jess voice is amazing! I'm not a huge fan of her music, but british artists are way better than americans (the most of the times).

    I have to admit, I'm not a huge Jess Glynne fan. The first two singles, Right Here and Hold My Hand, don't offer much to excite you, and the majority of the album is basic filler content. The highlights of the album, and I stress that there are very few, include "Don't Be So Hard On Yourself" and "Why Me" but mainly due to the production rather than the quality of the songs themselves. This album isn't awful but it certainly could be better I had high hopes after hearing that she had achieved several UK number ones before its release but it did disappoint a bit but I think she can improve and release some interesting work in the future.

    Dissapointing for a woman with such an amazingly erratic voice. I think she could do well moving in a more Florence and the Machine-like direction. The album is too unfocused and the lyrics are weak. I don't think the type of music she is making does her justice. I will wait for the next one

    "I Cry When I Laugh", o primeiro álbum de estúdio da cantora pop britânica Jess Glynne, apresenta singles muito mais concretos do que o próprio disco, possuindo canções espontâneas e divertidas, enquanto os arranjos instrumentais são muito bem acoplados com o incrível potencial vocal de Jess; que tardiamente falha em demonstrar qualquer tipo de inovação dentre letras simplórias e"I Cry When I Laugh", o primeiro álbum de estúdio da cantora pop britânica Jess Glynne, apresenta singles muito mais concretos do que o próprio disco, possuindo canções espontâneas e divertidas, enquanto os arranjos instrumentais são muito bem acoplados com o incrível potencial vocal de Jess; que tardiamente falha em demonstrar qualquer tipo de inovação dentre letras simplórias e sonoridades alternadamente ensurdecedoras. Sem sombra de dúvida, Jess possui uma voz potente e uma alma irradiante, mas ela deveria organizar melhor seu arsenal musical e investir em ritmos mais marcantes e sadios. C+ Expand

    A good start for her. Only one thing that get me bored of her album is her voice that does not unique and should be remembered or addicted like other world class artist.

    My Top 3;
    1. Ain't Got Far to Go
    2. Saddest Vanilla
    3. Don't Be So Hard on Yourself

    This album is a good example of where the singles chosen do not meet the standard of the album itself. This may be due to the high amount of airplay Glynne received (Hold My Hand was played to death). With this, Glynne's sound begins to sound generic and then starts the same. There is a lot of potential for Glynne to improve because if she can produce songs such as Take Me Home, Saddest Vanilla and Bad Blood, the sophomore will be highly praised. Bad Blood would have to be a hidden jewel. Of course it is not as good as Taylor Swift- but what is? The song sounds like the background music to World 2 in New Super Mario Bros. Wii. It is a great song.

    Highlights: Gave Me Something, Take Me Home. Why Me, Saddest Vanilla, Right Here, Bad Blood

    There’s no question that Jess Glynne is a very good singer, but her debut proves her best work thus far is on songs that aren’t even hers.

    Glynne’s first solo album (which has already hit No. 1 in the UK) is a bit all over the place stylistically, but flaunts her formidable pipes and undeniable talent for injecting a lyric with vulnerability.

    Glynne's voice is a powerful weapon to secure audience submission, yet it quickly becomes a weak link, making Florence Welch sound like Vashti Bunyan. [Sep 2015, p.112]
