Same ol DGD flair, just a different flavor.. In my own opinion its more of an 8 or 9, but considering the user score for the is a 5, I'm helping balancing the other ratings. These songs are catchy and fun just as DGD have done in the past. I can't stop playing "We Own the Night" and "Death of the Strawberry Swisher". It's no Jonny Craig DGD, but it's leagues better than Acceptance Speech

As Acceptance Speech did deliver the best clean vocalist in DGD's career it still didn't deliver that spark from past album, but Instant Gratification finds the voice in Tilian to deliver his new starring position.

Instant Gratification cements the band's veteran status and solidifies what we've always hoped: Dance Gavin Dance will never die. [May 2015, p.98]

While each member's technically great at what they do, once more, the magic from the band's debut seems too hard to recapture and as a sum of all its parts, DGD comes up short on Instant Gratification.
  3. Instant Gratification is impressive and for the most part feels like a strong return to form for a band that's well adjusted in its own sound and aura, as Dance Gavin Dance continue to be an anomaly in a mostly tired and boring scene.
