  1. By the measure of pure sound, It Is Time for a Love Revolution is a glorious feast of retro-rock pleasures--a feast of empty calories, perhaps, but sometimes fast food is more irresistible than a five-course meal.
  2. The mostly one-man-show of Time is another amalgamation of the vintage rock stylings that are his stock in trade.
  3. Not surprisingly, the lyrics lack any real nuance or trenchant insight, but the fervor of Kravitz's vocal, coupled with hard-charging guitars and battering drums, gives the song a visceral power.
  4. As a blast back to the past, this is the best album Lenny Kravitz has ever made--a visceral, expertly tailored blend of late-Sixties and early-Seventies classic-rock paraphrases with just enough modernizing to justify the record's copyright date.
  5. At various times on …Love Revolution, Lenny just doesn't cut it as a songwriter, a lead guitarist (don't even go there), a string arranger and, above all, a drummer. But the man can sing and for that much we, and he, should be grateful.

Ultimately, he sounds confused--he wants to bare his soul and boogie on, but the boogie isn't nearly enough. [Mar 2008, p.97]
  7. Overall this is a major letdown

Better than last album, equal to Lenny, nothing new to the table and not a classic album, but solid nonetheless.

Sometimes Lenny does a collage of other band's riffs, in addition to repeating himself too. We must realize his originality is next to Sometimes Lenny does a collage of other band's riffs, in addition to repeating himself too. We must realize his originality is next to zero, if other bands like Racounteurs or The Black Keys are looking at the past with very fresh and innovative eyes. And if you listen to this album and the prevoius one, you will see the same album with the same chords and vibe. I don't wanna talk about the "beatles wrong photocopy" of some tracks like "back in vietnam" (do you remember back in the ussr?) or the lennon-like feeling of some other tracks. Buy Revolver or the White album by Beatles or a Kins album instead. Collapse

Ugh, he still sucks, even when he tries really hard not to.
