Deceiver of the Gods wasn´t as good as usual in this group , but this Jomsviking has lost to me Amon Amarth´s essence and hasn´t got at least a powerful track. It´s been a total dissappointment to me and I hope they return to the line of Twilight of the Thunder God that was their last awesome album. I know they can´t sound again like in good old ages like in Versus the World, The AvengerDeceiver of the Gods wasn´t as good as usual in this group , but this Jomsviking has lost to me Amon Amarth´s essence and hasn´t got at least a powerful track. The sheer, unreconstructed manliness and testosterone that flows through every riff takes you right to the heart of whatever battle Amon Amarth are embroiled in. [2 Apr 2016, p.52]

The best parts of the record remain firmly in tact: The story is remarkable easy to follow and doesn’t suffer from gaps in logic or unnecessary turns toward the convoluted and you never get the sense that the band does anything but believe in the story itself.

Jomsviking effectively distills all of the band's predilections into one big, dragon-headed longship of an album, sails aflame and headed straight into the mouth of Valhalla.
