Pretty average. Even if it's the best album he's put out in a decade. Decent production and some pretty great lyrics at points but no consistency.

Listen when your argument to your critiques is "my album is so deep so **** you if you don't like it" and "I'm an artist you'll never be an artist, suck a dick" it just comes off as childish. It's funny that Eminem disses popular rap yet many of the producers and flows Em utilizes are very popular today. Some of the "romantic" tracks feel very akin to the overbaked garbage of Revival but he makes this up with the best track on the album Kamikaze. It feels like a cut from The Slim Shadey. The rest of the album could really benefit from this behavior because of the rest of the album is tainted with Eminem being overly angry and serious. People are also praising this album for Eminem's disses. Sure Em you may have "deeper" lyrics and tone compared to the mumble rappers but when we compare your recent work to Flower Boy there is a stark gap in quality. Also, Joe Budden was incredibly constructive and fair about Revival so it just feels jarring that Em is so angry and dickish. Em also needs to wake up to the fact that he hasn't really influenced popular rap that much. Sure he brags about how he created Hopsin and Logic but that's not really much to brag about. He is so egotistical with his catalog. Listen dude you have two amazing albums in The Slim Shady and Marshall Mathers and the rest of your catalog is decent at best and hot trash at worst. Eminem either needs to take a serious time to reconsider what made Eminem great or just quit Expand

Lyrics are what is expected out of new Eminem material. The best parts of the album are his aggressive and super fast rapping that he's made so famous and iconic. There's really no focus on the album and no cohesive idea. Eminem used to be known for a clear theme for his albums, but this feels like a glorified streaming platform playlist. Expand

He complains about mumble rap, ironic that I can't hear what is being said in the hook of track number 10, "Fall". He lists as many names as he can for relevancy, and I'm expected to respect Eminem's lunge for fame? Don't get me wrong, this man has potential but until the day that he stops worrying about the next generation of rappers and focuses on the direction of his own music, he will be taking an L. My belief is that a rapper needs to live by what they speak. Eminem puts himself on a pedestal predominantly above rappers like lil Pump and Migos, there are many more though. I'm sure his lyrical disses sounded like hardcore disses to some, but that is where i draw a line. I don't listen to lil Pump or Migos personally but i understand them, and they don't pretend to be lyrical prophets or have anything important to say. The fact that Eminem is comparing himself to these guys is just plain pitiful. Recently these artist have been doing better numbers than him. is it too far to assume that the great Eminem could be jealous? Artists like Migos and lil Pump create music for their specific niches, and Eminem forgets about why people used to listen to him. i listened for his personal opinions about subjects he actually lived through (e.g drugs, women, mental health). Kamikaze just isn't that.

    Mediocre.

Better than Revival but that's not saying much. There's 6 tracks that I enjoy from this album but another 6 or 7 that are skippable. Eminem's pen game is still unmatched to this day but just like most of his discography, this album adds to a ever growing list of weak projects.

It seems like every album he's put out thus far there's always that 1 song that just ruins it, this time it's

Agressive Eminem is back with "Kamikaze", a 13-song, 46 minute album.

The album is very inconsistent, with a few high points, but overall disappointing again. The skits with Paul Rosenberg are well-implemented as well, a nice change in a time where skits are slowly disappearing.

But besides the highlights there are also some forgettable tracks, which don't add much to the album. If these were to be cut, it would be a 8/10 album. But for now, a 6/10 is a fair rating to me.

A mediocre album from Eminem. His rapping feels kind of stale by this point, and his references are getting a little dated. It's not bad, but definitely not his best. I liked the song Venom, even though that song got some backlash.

Kamikaze has a couple good tracks and a couple good features, but it's also painful to listen to Eminem's obnoxiously out of date performances that make everything he puts out an absolutely horrible experience.

While the album contains no common theme or overall message, it provides the listener with some very thought provoking literary devices...as does all of Shady's projects. In short, the lyricism wasn't enough to overshadow the "rambling". Throughout the entire album, Eminem comes across as bitter. He keeps taking shots at other rappers, claiming his better than them because of what they rap about vs what he does. If he keeps calling them out and being redundant, does that not make him as repetitive and as boring? He also insists throughout the record the Revival was good, which just becomes more and more annoying. KamikazeThroughout the entire album, Eminem comes across as bitter. Kamikaze finds Marshall Mathers revelling in his Slim Shady rabid underdog role, fulminating at critics, boggling at Lil Yachty, and sneering at the Migos flow on Not Alike. How riveting all this finger-wagging is probably depends upon your birth date.

Fans clamoring for the old Marshall Mathers should stream the old album or hell, rent it from the library or something. After being faced with nothing to prove as the highest-selling rapper of all-time, Eminem’s found another challenge in perfecting the new style he’s put on display.

As sheer performance, Eminem's vocals remain a thing of wonder, which is why it's so dispiriting to hear him circling the drain, relying on old tricks instead of expanding his worldview. He has the musical skills to mature; he's just refusing to let himself act his age.
