    A rich, mainly acoustic fabric. [#86, p.59]

An unequivocally excellent record that never bores. If you've yet to explore this strangely intoxicating genre of music, I would suggest Sidi Toure's latest album as a perfect starting point: accessible enough for immediate appreciation, yet complex enough for repeat listens.

The follow-up, recorded in a fully equipped studio with backing band, retains an acoustic ethic, but is more richly textured. [Jul 2012, p.84]

Koima is a beautiful album, and at times beautiful to the exclusion of anything else.

Toure is indisputably a fine guitar player, and he can establish a groove and carry a tune as well as anyone. The album, though, is rather monotonous in its approach, and given the rich variety of music coming out of the African continent and west Africa in particular, this offering strikes one as rather tame.

Koima is pretty enough, but feels too frantic. [Jun 2012, p.160]
