The roster is impressive--it includes Mary Chapin Carpenter, Joan Osborne, Joss Stone, Lee Ann Womack, Sarah Jarosz and Sara Watkins--and the songs are even better.

The end product feels natural, unforced and even at times humble, making this appropriately titled sixth Stringdusters album yet another successful effort that moves the act beyond its string roots while keeping their collective feet planted in them.

The Infamous Stringdusters actually put themselves in the background on much of Ladies & Gentlemen, letting their guests take the center stage while they provide the support, but if the Stringdusters opted to be accompanists rather than the stars of the show on these sessions, their songs and effortless virtuosity make it clear they're every bit as talented as their friends.

The end result is, arguably, the best album that the ‘Dusters have put out since their self-titled affair--plus, it does a heart good to know that these golden boys are keen on giving the girls their time to shine, all the same.
