Frances’s voice has a tendency to sway into a mumble throughout, making certain vantages into her world a strain to perceive – unfortunately lending itself to the album’s mysterious nature a little too well.

They are not instant but even early on you can hear that Aoife Nessa Frances has a strong handle on melody. On repeated listen each of the 9 tracks expands and you'll hear something extra in the background every time you go back. It's an album with a lush sound but markedly lo-fi at the same time. One of the best records of early 2020 for sure. A feast of melodies. Highlights include "Less is More", "Libra" and the title track "Land of No Junction". Great stuff. Full Review »
