While the album is destined to remain underground, you just know Childish is in his element right there amid the grit and grime. [Sep 2019, p.84]

A gloriously demented throwback to/sendup of everything from 1950s surf rock and rockabilly to the blistering ferocity of early punk acts likeA gloriously demented throwback to/sendup of everything from 1950s surf rock and rockabilly to the blistering ferocity of early punk acts like the Sex Pistols and the Ramones with a little AC/DC-style hard rock thrown in for good measure, this is an album that consistently delights throughout. Nothing here is particularly new or innovative (and that's hardly the point anyway), but the hooks are strong, the energy is palpable, and the distinctly analog sound hearkens you back to a simpler time when rock music was the ultimate form of rebellion and self-expression.
