This album maintains a specific and recognizable sound. It seems to me a fun and deep album at the same time. The best compilation album I've ever heard.

It could've been better than including a few demos and presenting this a new album. I love Song for You and Our Day will Come.

She's dearly missed, what a talent.

This is a perfect last album for amy. This album takes me back to her 2006 album Back to Black. It's soul, jazz, pop, and neo-soul. I will miss her unique voice. You will be missed Amy Winehouse. R.I.P Amy Winehouse

Even though Lioness is far from what was expected from Amy Winehouse, it's a blessing to hear whatever we are allowed to over the loss of not just the hope for a brilliant future for music industry, as well of one of the greatest talents of the world.

I'm giving this album a 5/10 review because of Amy's unique voice only. This is a very commercial album and her most forgettable work. Do not buy it. "Body And Soul", "Our Day Will Come" and "Girl Of Ipanema" (which is a cover of Tom Jobim's Garota de Ipanema) are the highlights of this "album", rest is completely forgettable.

This isn't an actual album, Amy has stated numerous times that she "will not release an album" she "is not proud of". This is exactly what this album is, some songs (between the cheats) are what you would expect from Amy while others are things which would likely never see the light of day had she stuck around. Her producer stated "Better to release it than have it collect dust in a hard drive", this is just a tribute album and in no way reflects the quality of work we have come to expect from Amy. Check out Frank and Back to Black to get a real taste of Amy's talent. Expand

People that criticize this album are really heartless. Of course it's not going to sound like a studio recorded album, most of the songs are demos and different versions of some of her songs. Very good album!. Just a shame that such talent is now gone!. With this compilation, the songs all sound the same sometimes and can get repetitive, however it is a good album that should be treated with great respect at the work that has gone into it. Overall 7 out of 10

I wasn't expecting much from an album which probably was put together just to be a final money-making posthumous essential album for Amy Winehouse. 'Hidden Treasures' is not a studio album nor a complitation of greatest hits, so it's not fair to judge it as one. It's enjoyable to listen to and makes you feel nostalgic.

Winehouse was horribly overrated but surly even Amy fans will fell ripped off but this cheap cash in of B-sides and unfinished recordings. Enough said.

This is not an 'album', it is a collection of hazy b-sides and hastily re-produced recent demos released just in time for the Christmas gift shopping season. It's not an album to please her fans (though it's nice to hear the great new track "Between the Cheats", the best track here by far) and as such, it seems like a coarse and disappointing way to cash in on the recent interest in Winehouse's music after her early death. There's not a single weak track on the singer's touchstone album, Back To Black--there's a real sense that that album was planned to be as strong, cohesive, and distinctively Winehouse as possible. With the late singer drinking herself to death and only able to record a couple demos post Back to Black, Ronson (the producer here) has no such editing privileges: he's obviously grasping at straws, including mostly material from Winehouse's Frank era and demos from Back to Black. (Frank, by the way, is decidedly timid compared to Back to Black; with Winehouse's vocals especially nasal and her pronunciation a little too polite.) So on Lioness, we're left with a Winehouse cover of "The Girl from Ipanema" that's orchestrated all wrong for her voice, too fast and high; a limp version of "Tears Dry on Their Own" that makes me feel like I just downed a bottle of Nyquil; and a lovely version of "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow" that was already released...in 2004! Overall, a desperate and disrespectful attempt to wring one more album out of a dead and incredibly talented drunkard. It would have been better to end her discography on Back to Black. Expand

Overall this album is a respectable tribute to Amy's memory and doesn't feel like an album repeating past success, rather it takes on it's own sound and is able to stand on it's own as a very nice album full of emotion. Amy Winehouse was a great artist whose unfortunate end will always leave the question, "What would she have done?". We will never know but we do know that because of her, we are getting back to more "real" music and a new retro sound that is coming back to pop music. (and we can thank her for Adele :P)

[Amy Winehouse had] something compelling, human and wonderful, and it surfaces just enough on this compilation to make it worthy of her name. [Jan 2012, p.91]

An admirable tribute if frequently deafened by the echo of its tragic catalyst. [Jan 2012, p.121]
