No doubt, Lord Steppington is a niche album, but whenever a combination of 3rd Bass and Adult Swim is required, this one shows its pimp-hand with some dry, elevated humor.
  2. Jan 27, 2014
It all adds up to a quality album that manages not to take itself too seriously without resorting to being dumb.
  3. Mar 31, 2014
It all gives the sense of a fun, messy but inspired recording session conducted in a fug of weed smoke.
  4. Jan 27, 2014
Not only is Steppington the first must-own rap record of 2014, but it represents freedom for its makers.
  5. Feb 10, 2014
Lord Steppington is arguably his finest since Domo Genesis' No Fools mixtape, certainly an album on which his production is more freewheeling than it has been in a while, noisier, angrier, determined.
  6. Mar 21, 2014
Lord Steppington simultaneously engages the grey matter while snapping at the neck muscles. [Apr 2014, p.93]
  7. Feb 11, 2014
Lord Steppington is worth a listen for the production alone if you’re a fan of boom bap hip-hop. It’s just a shame because this could’ve been so much more if more of the focus went into writing.

This album features a great duo, Evidence and Chemist working pretty good here. Overall, it will probably be one of the most standout Hip Hop albums of the year. Featuring a bunch of really chill and icy beats and flows, while banging beats and subdued instrumentals that bring heat to polarize them. Quite a bit to enjoy here. Expand

This album may not bring anything new to the table, however it is a very enjoyable album with dope production and rapping. All the features did their thing and it was a good album. Very good start to 2014 Expand

The production was very enjoyable and high-quality. The lyrics were pedestrian, however, and The Alchemist and Evidence clearly didn't even try to be creative with the entire concept. ~ 6.3/10

Best track: "Dr. Kimble": The production was dope, and the lyrics were above-average for this album.
