Love And Compromise was written as an album for everyone; on those terms, it's an unqualified, joyous success.

Going by the natural charm of the album and the fun Mahalia seemed to have in making it -- the smile cracked in the chorus of "I Wish I Missed My Ex" is the clearest evidence -- she might only be getting started.

At the end of this journey, we’re left not only with a playlist you’re itching to put on repeat, but also with the a much-needed notion of an inspirational woman made much stronger- much more in love with herself- by the trials and tribulations of her life.
  4. Never compromising herself or her sound, Mahalia has produced a debut album filled with dazzling songs.

Despite the emotional content here, Mahalia exudes a breezy mellowness, with thoroughly 2019 themes rubbing up against retro stylings.

This narrative of self-empowerment might be superficially uplifting but it can also be rather inane, recalling the tween-friendly messages of positivity spread by pop powerhouses like Little Mix. That lightweight lyricism is in contrast to Mahalia's sophisticated sonic palate. [Oct 2019, p.109]

Perfectly classic..this album was a revamp of RnB at a moment when it was universally absent in the industry across the the globe.

A perfect nostalgic trip to early 2000's RnB. Mahalia sure knows how to make an incredible album. No skip attempts because all songs are bangers.
