To paraphrase Public Image Ltd, this is not a love album, in a form that most would recognise. It is, however, a powerful rumination on its presence, absence, and the power, both good and bad that love holds over us. Oxbow understands the power of love.

Love's Holiday still kicks against the pricks, particularly on raging single "Icy White & Crystalline", but the primary themes here seem to be love and loss. [Sep 2023, p.34]

Love’s Holiday finds Oxbow operating in a slightly different, more restrained register, but that means the album doesn’t quite reach the heights of its towering predecessor.

Grim catnip for 40-something lapsed Nirvana fans. [Aug 2023, p.79]
