I was expecting to hear a variety sound on theses new tracks and i didn't have it an album very generic with a very repetitive choruses. The worst is the he was the last ex-1d to make a solo album to give us this poor production so much talent for nothing. At least what save this album is the the older singles.

This album is generic but voice sounds good. Liam doesn't show us what he can do.

The way Liam talks about the main theme in the album (sex) is not sexy or instigating. Everything sounds vulgar and forced. There are problematic lyrics, generic melodies and Payne seems to ignore his potential to do something inovative.

But still, the songs are good but sound like generic singles put together.

I just feel like Liam could prove to us so much more than this. This song is flooded with generic beats and a voice that doesn't vocalize any emotions, which makes the album boring and gives me a huge urge to shut it off. With heavy and awkward sexual statements and very poor representation of bisexuality, some of the features and some of the singing are the only redeemable qualities off of this otherwise forgettable album.
I believe that he's capable of delivering a fun enjoyable project but he needs to learn from this horrible backlash and grow as an artist, or just drop it all together and become a model, maybe he just wants money and doesn't give a **** about the art , and that's ok, horrible album, not waiting for anything he drops anytime soon.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Liam had so much potential that he unfortunately has not used. The album contains a bunch of old singles ans collaborations that contribute to the album feeling more like a "bravo hits" or "best of" than a debut project. The album has a few good moments like Remember and a few of those singles but disappoints severely with songs like "rude hours" and "both ways" lyrically. The first may can be regarded as being purely shocking and provocative while both ways is just a no-go in this day and age. The production value is good though not existing. His sound definitely fits well on the radio and I hope he will have his moment. However, it is forgettable and his sound is not distinct nor unique which might be his downfall. Liam is an amazing vocalist and great life. His solo debut album failed to show what a great artist he could've been and leaves a bad taste in my mouth. He might has put too much of his energy into other project and or has not found his own identity. Truly hope that he will find himself in the future and deliver a sophomore project that shows his talent and abilities. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I’ve been a fan of Liam for nearly 10 years now. He is exceptional with a great voice, stage presence and song writing abilities. However I felt that the album was let down and that he could have done a lot better than this. His vocals on the album were strong but the lyrics were poor and at times offensively bad. It was disappointing that he wrote so few of the songs when he wrote a very amount of One Direction sounds along with his old bandmate Louis, he wrote the most songs. I hope that next time he writes more songs and releases songs that mean something and are personal to him. It’s not a bad album but it’s not a good one either. Expand

Not very original. The writing is way too week and there’s no emotion or anything to lure in the people.

It's a great album. I mean, the lyrics are just **** but the melodies are pretty good. In this album, Liam Payne doesn't show us who are Liam Payne, he just put superficial lyrics in some pop sounds.

LP1 não é um álbum ruim, mas é um álbum que não tem um diferencial, é apenas um álbum pop. Não temos um Liam decidido quanto ao seu estilo. Espero que ele se encontre em algo e que isso nos envolva junto com ele.

He relies on inane songwriting concepts, rote misogyny, and feelingless flexing. The lyrics are puerile and half-baked.

Spread over 17 songs that tick off genres with all the flair of an automated Spotify playlist, Payne’s anonymity remains the album’s default through line. Occasionally painful yet weirdly Payne-less.

Ultimately, a few things come from repeated listenings of “LP1″: First off, the writing and singing aren’t strong enough and come across as C-level Timberlake material. Two, without being surrounded by 1D, he shouldn’t sing high, flightily and airily, but rather stick to slow, low groovers. Three, Payno should find one or two styles that work best for him — and not put a host of other singers before him, male or female — and stick to them.
