[Makes Me Sick] creates enough slight sonic diversions to give longtime fans something new to enjoy. [May 2017, p.82]

For diehards who have grown with the band over the decades, this softer and more buoyant sound should be a welcome maturation.

A few minor missteps don't derail the album. What's most impressive is that, 20 years deep, New Found Glory are still putting out compelling music and growing tastefully with each release.

Though Makes Me Sick is still a fun listen--complete with some brilliant lyrical put-downs, genuinely touching moments and echoes of past glories--it doesn’t quite capture NFG at their life-affirming best.

The lyrics are cheesy and uninspiring at best.

I like that they experiment with a little synth this time around. While still very much a NFG album (Party on Apocalypse is your anthem NFG tune), they bring new stylings and Jordan once again kills it with his vocals. "The Sound of Two Voices" is a departure from their usual pop rock antics (it has island synth effects), but its such a fun song and its a personal favorite. If youre expecting NFG to pull the same ol same ol, you will be disappointed. This album stands out in their 20 year discography. Plenty of rock that you expect with tastefully done synth effects. Cant wait to see NFG perform this stuff live in a couple weeks. Well done New Found Glory. Full Review »
