Mammoth WVH is the sound of a young musician forging his own path and a very strong beginning to Wolfgang’s musical journey as a solo artist.

His vocals might lack memorable character, but right now the forceful energy he throws into his songs is enough. [Jul 2021, p.86]

You can’t help but feel that some creative tension and idea-bouncing in there might have led to some more invention and exploration in the album’s midsection. Nevertheless, though, this is still an impeccably delivered slab of hard rock fun.

After hearing „distance“ (which touched me so hard I cried in front of my tv everytime I heard it on YouTube) I was really looking forward what he would do on an album. And what can I say? It’s good! Really REALLY good!you can hear influences from Jimmy Eat World to Foo Fighters and a wide range from softer, more pop-like to harder songs. What’s even more impressing it that Wolfgang played every instrument by himself and I am absolutely looking forward to everything he‘s putting out in the future. He has its own (guitar-) style that you can hear especially on tracks like „Circles“. Thank you for this album Wolfgang! It’s vinyl version gets a special place in my heart and my collection. ❤️ Expand

Aside from some okay riffs here and there, this album has very little to offer beyond being a generic, overproduced rock album that has no business being nearly an hour long.

I wanted to like this way more than I did, being a big Van Halen fan, but it proved to be an excruciating listen. Speaking of the production, Michael 'Elvis' Baskette has a habit of making every band/artist he produces sound like the same damn band. Seriously, compile a few songs from this, combine it with a little Alter Bridge, a little solo Mark Tremonti, a little solo Myles Kennedy and a couple songs from Slash's latest album, and a new listener wouldn't even suspect it came from FIVE separate projects. Not exactly helping Wolfie carve out his own sound, is it?
