PeterBJan 1, 2005Their previous nonchalance in dishing out all sounds demure and French has transformed into a tornado of joy in this album. I only wish Mary were still around; she's the only thing that prevented this from surpassing Sound-dust as their best album ever.

ElliottFeb 1, 2004Fantastic. It merges all elements of previous albums into something altogether brilliant. "Need to Be" and "Margerine Rock" are absolute masterpieces.

chrisdJan 29, 2004a return to form for a band that never really strayed from the form they invented (or neatly co-opted from great sources) in the first place. as great an album as any of their others; if you dig the 'lab sound, this will not disappoint.

peterhMar 23, 2004This is an excellent album that most critics won't give the time it takes to listen and appreciate it's intricate melodies, rhythms and overall inventiveness. And it's really their loss.

BenjaminBunnyDec 13, 2004Sterolab just started repeating themselves after "Dots & Loops" (their last really great record), so if you liked "Cobra & Phases Group" or "Sound Dust" you'll like this 'cause it's practically the exact same album. A good one, but a samey one.

This is without question their finest hour since the classic Emperor Tomato Ketchup.

Entertainment WeeklyWonderful.... It's like greeting old friends who'd been held hostage by free-jazz-playing aliens for seven years. [23/30 Jan 2004, p.99]

UrbThe band is crisp and tight, with daring songwriting and arrangements. [Mar 2004, p.111]
