Sep 13, 2018We just need to sit back and enjoy it when a band like this comes around and puts out a record as big and fun as Master Volume.
-
Sep 14, 2018Master Volume is a delightful, precise record. The band are at the top of their game on it, but it still feels like a no-stakes basement jam session between three friends. Maybe that’s why they’re so contagious: the Nil aren’t for the culture, they’re for the kids.

Classic Rock MagazineSep 13, 2018A clever way with melodies over and above what they achieved on debut Higher Power, and lyrically there's more than welcome cheeky sense of irony. [Sep 2018, p.93]
-
Kerrang!Sep 13, 2018A deliberate and delightful mess of punk and rock'n'roll out to deliver a black eye, Master Volume ends with the almost beautiful strains of Evil Side which buzz with an infectious, if troubled, vitality. But rather than falling apart, The Dirty Nil are simply solid. [15 Sep 2018, p.55]

Sep 13, 2018This is, primarily, experiential music, meant to be enjoyed communally at their ear-splitting live shows.

Sep 17, 2018Honestly a great straight up rock and roll record, and the best full length by the band so far. Fatty hooks. Very big sound for being a three-piece.
