Way too commerical for the Peas. Superb funky pop songs like 'My Style' are contrasted with dreary, universal peace application 'Union'. Seriously Sting and Will.I.Am, it was never going to work! The song with James Brown is brilliant quite and important in terms of his last work as he died soon afterwards. However, Monkey Business takes catchy too far that it becomes annoying and takesWay too commerical for the Peas. Nothing special. "My Humps" is completely tasteless. There are many different alternatives for this album that don't talk about milk and cocoa puffs. Bottom Line: Don't waste the money.

An album unable to decide whether it's unoriginal, boring, or simply inane -- so it settles for being all three. Best cuts: "Feel It" and "Disco Club" are the pick of this particular bit of refuse.

"Great fun with a capital PH. Most tards who have given the BEPs 0 marks here don't have a Phking clue that they are innocuous, vacuous, cheeky, chirpy chappies, without an agenda. Is that so bad? I don't think so. Give me the BEPs any day." wow....just wow. apparently you have no knowledge of history whatsoever. the oppression of minorities in america did not begin in the early 90's; it began wayyy before gangsta rap. that is the most ridiculous excuse i have ever heard. and whether black people are still treated as sub human status by "other races" (you mean, white people, i hope) is debatable, though it might be true in your case. now go "get stupid" and "retarted" as if you aren't enough already. This album started great. Great songs with great production and even great transitions, but as it progressed, the songs started to get monotonous, with only a few standing out, but regardless of that, one can still enjoy the album as a whole.

    A bland meringue. [3 Jun 2005, p.81]
  2. The lyrical inspiration has evaporated.
  3. Monkey Business is just as bright if not quite as fun as Elephunk.
