May 11, 2011The gamble was worth it as they have improved as artists and presented an album where you never know what will come next.

May 4, 2011This is scintillating fare, albeit rock of a variety that can dizzy itself to the extent where a point becomes dulled by the practice--not that it matters, because the poise is so polished (when it's not drenched in feedback) that the band's directionless bombast is a most pleasing soundtrack to all and any whatever-the-weather escapades.
-
UncutMay 10, 2011The stand-out, though, is the epic "The Little Death (In Five Parts)" which mixes AC/DC pyrotechnics with a sexually charged rhythm section. [May 2011, p.80]

May 4, 2011As 'The Little Death (In Five Parts)' started I questioned whether this record would start to fall down a slippery slope and plummet to the ground faster than a lead balloon falling from the sky. Fortunately 'The Little Death (In Five Parts)' reinstated my faith and any trepidation and scepticism I had is instantly diminished.

Jan 13, 2012Within the digital production, which is acidic and cavernous, there are hints of the Kills (fuzz blasts, crunchy mechanical drums), Clinic (vacant vocals), and Animal Collective (watery, circular melodies).
-
May 4, 2011It is the sound of a band trying too hard to be clever by half, and, if I can be candid, that's pretty much, unless you're a glutton for punishment, all the story you need to hear.
