As a result, My Everything is a less cohesive project than Yours Truly, although its best moments eclipse the highs of Grande's 2013 debut.

Turns out, so-called mini-Mariah can hold her own in 2014; and while the best songs here may not be timeless, they certainly feel right for right now.

Despite its shortcomings, My Everything succeeds in its primary objective. This is a pop record, clear and simple.
  4. The innocence in Grande’s voice helps her bring off the cliches in the more earnest material, like the soapy ballad “Why Try” or “Just A Little Bit of Your Heart,” co-written by One Direction’s Harry Styles. She proves less sure on more flip songs.

My Everything isn’t quite everything, but it’s enough.

Tying everything back to the idea of the album as a showcase for Grande’s newfound maturity, My Everything ends up ringing hollow.

My Everything truly sound[s] like a grab-bag of ideas, lacking any sort of conceptual unity or overall theme.

The album blends pop, R&B and electronic music that I never imagined she would. The vocal keeps it perfect, but I believe that some critics will not like as much as the fans. She must not stop, it has a potential to become a big diva. Expand

Ariana Grande's My Everything is the epitome of manufactured corporate pop. This album is garbage. She is a mediocre singer at best. As forAriana Grande's My Everything is the epitome of manufactured corporate pop. This album is garbage. She is a mediocre singer at best. As for her song writing abilities, she has none. Her label did all the work. She just showed up in the studio for 2 days to record songs written and composed for her by other people. She does not write or compose any of her music. All of her songs have anywhere from 4 to 10 writers. She is listed as a co-writer, even though she doesn't write anything, to give her false credibility. The lead single "Problem" is the worst pop song since Rebecca Black's Friday. The rest of the album is just as bad. Every song sounds the same. They are all generic bland typical pop songs that you hear on the radio. If you love garbage like Justin Bieber, One Direction, and Rebecca Black, you will love this album. If you love non-manufactured real music, you will not like this album. Expand
