  1. Your record collection still only really needs a couple of Chk Chk Chk 12"s and that Out Hud album, but don't pass on the chance to see them live.
  2. Tedium is a problem, but danceability is a given.
  3. There are moments when they seem to lose sight of what it is exactly that makes them so interesting to begin with, writing songs that seem stuck halfway between dance and conventional indie rock.

    You're left feeling less !!! than ??? [Apr 2007, p.102]

Rather than working as a listening experience, Myth Takes feels more like a dry run for one of !!!'s compulsive live shows. [Apr 2007, p.116]
  6. Taken within the context of !!!’s (and, by default, OUT HUD’s) legacy, it doesn’t feel like a step in any particular direction so much as a million ideas left to duke it out.

!!! certainly have talent and energy, but not the heart to self-edit. [Apr 2007, p.130]

In a world with no jazz, this would be the American Jamiroquai (or any other good band from the acid jazz movement in the early 90s).In a world with no jazz, this would be the American Jamiroquai (or any other good band from the acid jazz movement in the early 90s).

Drawing influences from rock, pop, general alternative and electronic music, but always sounding as **** as hell.

Memorable album by a great band - probably their best.

It blends psychedelic rock with dance-rock so perfectly well together. The stand out track is easily "Must Be The Moon". Each track sounds more different than the one before it. All In All, Chk Chk Chk have crafted a strange album that blends psychedelic and punk rock perfectly. B+ Full Review »
