At only nine tracks, the album delivers big time in such a short trip and definitely leaves the listener wondering what gems this super duo left on the cutting-room floor.

DOOM has taken a backseat in an attempt to mentor this young talent and under his guidance Nehru has put in a spectacular performance.

NehruvianDOOM isn’t the first attempt to recreate Golden Age Hip Hop in the 21st century, but it’s an exceptionally creative take on the now-classic sound that succeeds in offering an enjoyable--and at times quirky--listen.

DOOM, sparing on the mic, rustles up his usual funk finds with samples sprayed willy-nilly. Teenage sensation Bishop Nehru slots in; assuredly, naturally skilful, with the right amount of NYC, street cypher confidence putting up an all-rounder’s game.

NehruvianDoom might be slight, but it deftly whets the appetite for more. [Nov 2014, p.89]

Had it been released by a lesser pair, this album would doubtless by hailed as full or potential, the first LP from a vital new force in alternative hip-hop; however, as it has been released by these two, it falls jarringly flat when one considers what they’re capable of.

This dropped-ball feeling that NehruvianDOOM exudes derives from how it handles and telegraphs (or rather how it doesn’t handle how it telegraphs) its supposedly unifying theme.

If you don't like Bishop rhyming and the Villain producing you're in the wrong place. The album weighs in at 9 tracks, or 10 if you buy it on iTunes. The beats are mainly new. Mega-nerds will recognize 2 beats from the Special Herbs inst albums, but the beats are flipped and spruced for the album. Stand out joints include the Madvillain reunion Disastrous, Caskets, Darkness and Coming for you. Expand

I finally sat down and listened to this and i must say that it is a solid album. The only song I'm not a fan of is Mean the Most. Bishop NehruI finally sat down and listened to this and i must say that it is a solid album. The only song I'm not a fan of is Mean the Most. Bishop Nehru has a potential to be great and this project shows it. Expand
