The music is infinitely interesting, possibly more so than the artist singing it. But then again, you shouldn’t count out anyone releasing an album like Nightride.

It’s when Nightride decides to shift gears in the latter half that the outing gets really exhilarating.

As the double-entendre title implies, Nightride mixes themes of both cruising and loving, and does so through tracks produced by notables including the-Dream, Boi 1da and Dev Hynes.

Nothing here has the upbeat pop appeal of "2 On" or any of the unincluded post-Aquarius singles, but this is clearly designed for a different purpose.
  5. 60
Nightride plugs the gap with a series of hazy, gauzy tracks.

This album is an incredible work of art. It is very cohesive, but somehow all the tracks are very different and unique. C'est La Vie isThis album is an incredible work of art. It is very cohesive, but somehow all the tracks are very different and unique. C'est La Vie is Tinashe's best song in my opinion! NightRide has tracks for every mood: urban bangers like Ride Of Your Life and Party Favors, get-in-the-mood songs like Touch Pass, Company and Sacrifices and calming, vibey songs like Lucid Dreaming and Ghetto Boy. Goodness Gracious, I may be crazy for saying this, but Tinashe outdid herself with this project, from bottom to top. Everything on it simplyGoodness Gracious, I may be crazy for saying this, but Tinashe outdid herself with this project, from bottom to top. Everything on it simply puts you on that Nirvana state (something that's very rare when it comes to musical projects). If this mixtape sounds beautifully well done, I can imagine how is JOYRIDE sounding...

Anyway, I'm fully enjoying to witness her progression, not only as a musician.

It's kinda sad that she wastes way too much runtime in pseudo art-y interludes, ambient passages and stuff. It's all Beyoncé's fault. Blame her. She inspired all this garbage. Expand
