In short, the album is great but you do wish these bands could learn to dress better.
-
This retro sound is no surprise as Echo & The Bunnymen producer Hugh Jones is in control, and he infuses No Fighting In The War Room with a sneering urgency. It works, but only in spurts.
-
Little is embellished, musically or lyrically, and the no-frills approach can sometimes work in a band's favour. But this workmanlike trawl through suburban life won’t set your world on fire.
-
Let’s not kid ourselves, though, that this is anything more than formulaic, spiky, anthemic pop.
-
Harrisons have not brought anything terribly original to the table.
