    These duets are, of course, not standards. The production is exceptionally murky – mostly collaborators move through the dark, uncertain world Stewart manifests with his Scott Walker-like crooning of glossolalia.

It''s magnificent the way they turned the pain (abuse and traumas collected in Jamie Stewart's memories) into art, but of course, as Fiona Apple would say, "there's nothing poetic about it". Fully valid. I see this as powerfull and enjoyable to go against the parameters of what people should listen to, along the exprimental genre. "Sain Dymphna" and "Goodbye For Good" are the perfect examples of the lyrical content Xiu Xiu has been delivering for long time, and we're here to listen AND celebrate them.

    Incredible album. Saint Dymphna and Sad Mezcalita are among their best songs ever.
