After establishing himself with well-received mixtapes, Ohio is exactly the album fans could’ve hoped for Stalley to deliver with for his major-label debut.

Overall, Stalley’s debut album is highly entertaining with a sound that is very refreshing in today’s rap scene.

Powerful stuff itself, Stalley's excellent debut proves Funkadelic's hypothesis of "Free your mind and your ass will follow" while taking Dr. Dre's advice of "Keep their heads ringin'" to another level.

Even though the first half of the album skates by simply on its beats (“Boomin’” pairs a light, airy set of electronic chimes with an ominous set of horns in the background; “What It Be Like” featuring Nipsey Hussle is luminously jazzy for Stalley, much like the later track “Free”), Ohio’s second half is much closer to vintage Stalley.

Stalley showcases eclectic strengths on this release, but focus certainly isn't one of them.
