  1. Our Home is a Deathbed is not only a vulnerable record lyrically, but also for its time and place in the current hardcore scene as well.

With a sound as good as this, it's clear Xerxes aren't simply riding the wave, but making some of their own.

Overall, the Louisville group's ideas mostly work, and the album's strengths grow with repeated listens.

Xerxes debut LP is a solid take on the burgeoning Pg.99/Modern Life Is War hybrid. [Apr 2012, p.99]

Xerxes' album - "Our Home Is A Deathbed" is one of the shortest LP that can be found. Fortunately for team on those slightly more than 20Xerxes' album - "Our Home Is A Deathbed" is one of the shortest LP that can be found. Fortunately for team on those slightly more than 20 minutes they presented their good side. Songs like "Suburban Asphalt" or "Our City As A Floodplain" is a high-flying hardcore. Disc is not without its drawbacks - overdone "Sleep" or too reminiscent of "Summer Storms / Winter Leaves" - "Funeral Homes". Expand
