  1. A distinctive work.... it's a remarkably beautiful album.
  2. Alternative Press
Closest in style to 'Systemisch', it lacks the sublime glow of 'Diskont94', but it updates the former's chugging wash with a more varied tonal palette. [#146, p.97]
  3. The resulting sonic model represents a giant step in the evolution of sound sculpture
  4. Try listening to Brian Eno's Music for Airports in choppy RealAudio. Hear that? Digital clicks, random bursts of static, and underwater compression swim over icy electronic drones, numbing your mind into a state of paralysis. Now imagine spending $12 for it. That's the Oval experience in a nutshell.... As always, Ovalprocess isn't bad for what it is, but it's certainly not clever anymore.
  5. Past Oval projects have always worked just as well as plain old "music"... "Ovalprocess," however, is about process -- and process only. The problem is, it's more interesting to talk about than to listen to.
  6. Magnet
Unfortunately, [Markus] Popp has recently become more fascinated with theory than result.... This is what causes the downfall of Ovalprocess as a work of pure music.... a disappointing misstep. [#47, p.112]
