Mar 11, 2011There's immense lyrical potential, manifesting itself in lines like "Emotional luggage, nothin' of it, I don't check bags / I just carry on, leave that bullshit in the past," or "Master the flow, Alaska-cold / silent foot, assassin approach / high when I stroll / not even leavin' footprints in the snow," but it never quite carries over to the entire song. From that point of view this sequel is more of an afterthought to "Pilot Talk" than an afterburner.

Dec 22, 2010On the sequel, Curren$y and Ski go even further with that central idea, pushing into sleepy, smooth funk territory that fits Curren$y's rap style perfectly.

Dec 14, 2010Pilot Talk II is brilliant because it builds on its excellent predecessor, but finds just a touch more focus.
-
Dec 10, 2010A minor release for Curren$y still bests most major hip-hop releases, and this Pilot Talk sequel relishes in the rapper's expanding set of skills.
-
Nov 30, 2010If Pilot Talk was the daylight that showcased Curren$y's talent to the world, part 2 is that evening's afterparty.
-
Nov 30, 2010Highly desirable for Currensy fans who like his material at its most loose and free, just don't start here.
-
Nov 30, 2010The rare misstep "Silence," full of murky warbling, highlights the delicate balance between chill and boring. Still, when it works, it works.
-
Nov 30, 2010Sometimes a sequel can out do the original. That's the case with Curren$y's follow-up to Pilot Talk, thanks largely to stepped-up production by Ski Beatz, whose beats sound like a minute hasn't passed since he worked on Jay-Z's Reasonable Doubt.
