Pilot Talk II is brilliant because it builds on its excellent predecessor, but finds just a touch more focus.

The rare misstep "Silence," full of murky warbling, highlights the delicate balance between chill and boring. Still, when it works, it works.

If Pilot Talk was the daylight that showcased Curren$y's talent to the world, part 2 is that evening's afterparty.

While similar in feel to it's predecessor, Pilot Talk, this follow-up is much less commercial in approach. The backdrop, though sometimes redundant, is more intimate, substituting any real peaks of audio genius for a solid, cohesive chilled-out-smoke-and-float ambiance.

  1. With songs like Hold On, Michael Knight, Silence, Famous and basically the whole CD, Curren$y has once again proved that his lyrics are to be reckoned with. Expand
  2. Barely passing the 40 minute mark, Pilot Talk II may be an album with some of Spitta's quickest songs, many under 3 minutes, but he keeps the relaxed stoner rap that Jets fans love. Right off the bat Airborne Aquarium sets a bouncy smoke filled mood, and Curren$y brings the lyrics hard as usual. Famous and A Gee are two of Spitta's chillest songs on the album, and even though it is questionable whether or not this surpasses the greatness set with the first Pilot Talk, Pilot Talk II is definitely worth a couple playthroughs and will be enjoyed by fans of Da Hot Spitta Expand

A completely worthy follow up to Pilot Talk. The songs with young roddy and trademark are killer on this album. Airborne Aquarium, Famous, and Flight Briefing are enough to own this album, lucky for us all the other songs are good too. Expand

Another beautifully soulful album from Curren$y. It carries on right from where the original left off. The guest spots are for me the only area in which this LP's quality dipps from PT1. However the more focused, cold production is most certainly an improvement and Curren$y's lyrics continue to grow. If PT1 was your soundtrack for the summer then this will be your soundtrack to the winter. I can't imagine many artists could drop 2 LP's within 6 months and never make the listener lose interest. Very much looking forward to the next installment which will be released through Warner, hopefully that will mean a bigger budget and more promotion. Expand
