Justin Bieber went from 0 to 100 real quick. His reinvention in his new music sounds good and showed maturity for a bigger audience. However, the album contains fillers. On a positive note, it sure will make a lot of hits. "Sorry" and "Love Yourself" are the best in the album.

This album is amazing and shows a great departure from Justin's old tunes which weren't bad either. He has been best at what he does and he still continues to do that. Funny how hypocritical fans of 1D gave his album a negative review without even listening to the songs.

Its a good album. I'm a 21 year old guy who has never actually clicked with JB's tunes in the past AT ALL, and to be honest, this album is really, really great. The production includes electro, trap and synth beats, and this album contains some great features like Nas, Travis Scott, Big Sean and Skrillex. Lyrically, it is decent, and his voice really goes well on the production.

Purpose is not downright awful. Unlike many pop records, it tries to say something profound, and it mostly works on "Show You" and the title track. There songs have terrible lyrics, boring and/or generic music, and extremely underwhelming guest performances.

"Mean," "Where?" "Children," "Show You," and even "Sorry" and "Love Yourself" have fun, fresh, enjoyable music. The music is fun; not terribly original, but still enjoyable. I really do like Justin's effort at sincerity on the title track; it comes across as honest and heartfelt.

Purpose suffers from a few terrible songs and generally-bad lyrics, but it has some lyrical integrity and plenty of fun music. It is nowhere near close to great, but it's definitely not the worst pop album. It's a 6.5.

His entire album is basically Where R U Now Part 2. You can tell, right from the first single, that that was the main inspiration for the album sound, and he stuck with that template for the entire album. Justin, making an album with all the same sound is a recipe for **** albums. Was it possible to make a good album using the Where R U Now template? Definitely (see Madonna: Confessions on the Dancefloor, where every song basically had the same template) but Beiber did a poor job of making an album that sounded cohesive, even when working with tracks that sounded the same. Overall, a zero for album quality/cohesiveness, but I will spare a 4 because a few songs are good. Expand

Smart... I'm sure that this is the right word to describe this album. Harmonic work, satisfactory concept. Appropriate sonority, good vocals. The few negative aspects are: unstable artist's identity and the lyrics aren't mature enough.

I've never been a fan of Justin Bieber, but I figured I'd give this album a listen given all the hype it's been getting. He also captures the sound of pop music in 2015 quite well (or at least his producers do), but at times this also makes the music sound pretty generic. Even some of the better songs, like Sorry, get old really quickly because they're full of the same musical ideas that are constantly being played on the radio. Now, the thing that really bugs me about so many of these songs (or perhaps Bieber in general), is the squeaky-clean persona he tries to put forth. His lyrics are often so incredibly cheesy and ridiculous that they can turn a decent song into a cringeworthy nightmare. Case in point, the spoken word outro of the title track. It's the most incoherent, insipid nonsense I've heard in a while, and the fact that he throws religion into it to make himself seem wholesome or whatever makes it even more annoying. I'm not sure why he's so insistent on acting so goody-goody all the time. It's weird, and not convincing at all. Anyway, this album is overall pretty average, and thankfully there are a few good songs that save it from being completely awful. But it's definitely not enough to win me over as a Belieber.

Bieber in my eyes is still a bit corny. But that doesn't mean I can't like him at all. This album is a great leap in maturity and musicality from his younger albums. He still has lots of time to improve, with lyrics and ideas to talk about. I'm exited for projects he will put out later on in his 20's. He has mad potential.

It is undoubtedly the most "personal" album of the singer, showing personality, and the maturing of the artist to a certain extent.

With 18 tracks - which is a lot - Justin sins at various times. Her voice is disgusted in certain dogs. A version of Bieber seeks a redemption with "Mark My Words," but fails miserably, a song and cloying, USA, the synthesizers in the worst possible way, and seems to have no end. Be the best known: With "I'll Show You", "What do you mean?" And "Love Yourself", Justin finally shows quality. They are three hits and they are improving every time.

Already with "Company" and "No Pressure", or disk walks to another road. The first, consistency, and temptation is a great song very balanced. In the second, Big Sean stands out for the quality refrain, and the great participation of the American rapper.

In "The Feeling," Skrillex's finger on the track is good, yields for quite a while, although at some point, but the duo "Bieber-Halsey" is good, they marry and the sound goes against the quality of both.

The duet "Life is Worth Living" and "Where They Are Now" do not let the CD level drop, but it also does not raise the plateau. In the first, a song becomes a great ballad with the touch of the piano, it is delicious if it seems, do not miss anything else. Already in the collaborative track with a double "Jack U" - that was present without disc of the double released in February of 2015 - is a "modern ballad" with a voice of Bieber. It was not news to anyone, and it is dance from beginning to end.

In "Children", Bieber really goes overboard: It abuses and spends of the electronics and for that, it ended up taking some of the quality of the song, becoming practically a gigantic EDM. With "Purpose" (a track), a track in which Justin more attempt to "confess", ends up going unnoticed. It is melodic, sensitive, and end of it, Bieber discurses.

The album Purpose, as well as a work of art by the Canadian singer. Justin has matured for a while, shows creativity, shows creativity and shows that he knows how to innovate when he has to. The album contains minor flaws that seriously hurt, but it's also faithful, clear and conscious. Justin Bieber has been evolving more and more.

I need to give this a 10! Whaaaat?! This album is legendary and Justin Bieber is a living legend, we are all just living in the era of music of Justin Bieber. And you guys haven't even realized it, or did you? I guess you haven't been able to escape from him in 2015/2016, and I gotta tell you these songs will be still playing in the upcoming years. This album contains "Where Are Ü Now" (which itself already won a Grammy), "What Do You Mean" (straight #1 debut, a trendsetter), "Sorry" (excessively streamed song and of course #1, probably gonna end up as #2 song of the year 2016) and "Love Yourself" (complete masterpiece, the #1 song of the year and totally deserved). "Love Yourself" needs to win Grammy for Song of the year, Record of the year and Best Pop Solo performance, or that ceremony would be just a farce. Are you really going to tell me there was a better song this year? "Purpose" is mandatory to be nominated for Album of the year.
Even with all the bad attention on him and the negative press, he still managed to take it all in and prove everybody wrong. But not only that, his music was so powerful that there is no other artist on the world bigger than him right now. And I gotta tell you, I think is harder to do it that way that he did not blew the chance he was given. Or I would honestly say, there is no other artist this year whose songs I have enjoyed more, sincerely he is the number 1. Yes, he has the #1 and #2 biggest songs of the year, when has this happened before? I don't know, I guess you were witnessing an unprecedented feat here and you'll only find out at the end of the year. "Mark my words"
And all those ideas and concepts for the mentioned songs inspire and make this album, all the life tribulations and staged comeback contribute to make musical history here! All that blown out of proportion fame of his finally make real impact, This is what is all about. Come on, are you missing this? I'm already telling you, in a few months y'all read back on this and agree with me.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Enfim, minhas músicas favoritas são: All In It, We Are, No Pressure, No Sense e Trust. TODAS R&Bs. Me sinto orgulhosa de ser belieber, me sinto orgulhosa desse novo propósito do Justin. Quando estava ouvindo o álbum e Mark My Words começou a tocar, eu tava tipo: ''vamos lá Justin, cadê a batida? Cadê?'' e então a música acabou e eu confesso que fiquei decepcionada, então I'll Show You surgiu e trouxe TODAS as batidas de que eu estava sentindo falta. Expand

Personally I liked the vibe and the sound, very original sounds and improvisations from Justin and his producers, I want to point out songs like ''No Sese'', ''No Pressure'' and ''Children'' as one of the best songs from Bieber's career, all three could've been hit singles but since he already gave us 3 bangers it's alright. I want to add the song ''Company'' also surprised me as well as the songs ''Hit The Ground'' & ''Been You'' from his Deluxe version which I bought! To this day this is Justin's best work, his voice sounds a lot more mature, especially on his song ''Mark My Words'' he sings with some incredibly improved falsetto, Lyrics are pretty good even though I would appreciate less love songs and break up themed ones but they're still good.
As a 25 year old dude who always gives a chance to younger artists I'm pretty impressed with Purpose, if Justin Bieber can do even better than this, well then, bring it on!

Justin Bieber's best album and one of the best albums in 2016. After this album, Bieber is not THAT ANNOYING TEENAGER. Some songs are boring, but overall really great album. Keep in that way.

Beiber can do better. He is trying to grow up and its a good effort he is putting forward. I should probably rate this 10/10 just to combat the haters but i wont. I want him to try harder i know he can.

Justin Bieber got tired of being the teenager who turned crazy girls and dared to make a more mature album and achieved it, in fact, achievement more than that. Its consistent and is guded by a grand vision thsr despite faltering temporarily at times is stable enough throughout to warrant your attention. The opening short "mark my words" is a beautiful promise to get better,be transparent and reliable. Followed by the reflective "I'll show you" that covers themes almost every pop star is obligated to gauge once in their career if not multiple times, which is the pressure of fame. But "I'll show you " isnt glum instead it seems to take it instride accepting it's a price to pay for the experiences he's entitled to because of it. The fun lead single "what do you mean ?" is a fun party banger equally as superficial as the next hit "sorry". The latter of which would rule the airwaves for most of the following year. Ed sheeran's "love yourself " is a barbed F U to a self centered lover that could easily be interpreted as a diss to his famous ex Selena Gomez, irrespective of who it's from its a fantastic pop classic. The latter three songs go for and achieve rnb success with the help of in demand features in the form if big sean, travis scott and halsey. The worst song on the standard edition has to ve "life is worth living "which just feels like an empty platitude bereft of the charater and sincerity the rest of the record had built up. But the worst song on the deluxe versions is without a doubt" children " which is a dubstep misfire tgat spoils an otherwise solid record. Nevertheless the deluxe still has really worthwhile, and perhaps essential songs such as the title track, been you and et used to this.

Purpose is a document of a popstar at their creative peak turning past pain into classic anthems for heartbreak and love that still remain important more than five years later and prove he isn't likely to reach this level of consistency again.

This is pop excellence. Justin Bieber changed the game with this album. He was influencing the entire top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 and after hits like "What Do You Mean", "Where Are ü Now", "Sorry" and "Love Yourself" dropped. Arguably the Prince Of Pop. The album was cohesive, catchy, and well written. It is his best body of work to date.

He had 3 #1s on the billboard hot 100 just from this album alone, with what do you mean debuting at #1. Purpose is certified 4x platinum in North America, Austria, Canada and the United Kingdom. It was the fourth best selling album of 2015, selling over 1 million copies.

The opening track "mark my words" talks about his relationship with a love interest, however it's an off and on relationship. Hes losing trust, trying to fix the relationship, but their both unhappy and stuck. He shows off his healthy falsetto, with his smooth vocals.
His second track "I'll show you" is all about being imperfect, he's so pressured by being in the spotlight, causing him to make mistakes without thinking. He learns from his mistakes and fixes himself.
What do you mean is simple, he talks about how his relationship is confusing, his partner doesn't know what they wanna do.
Sorry is about well, being sorry.
Love yourself is about cutting off an ex who's manipulative, and uses him.
Company is about a one night stand.
No pressure, is about being surprisingly in love, the love is trying to leave but he won't let go.
No sense is about justin wanting the person he was in relationship with.
The feeling is about questioning love, are they really in love, or is it just the feeling?
Life is worth living is about the worst in relationships, fighting, depression, and separation.
Where are U now is about needing support from that one person, hes not getting that even when he supported that person.
Children, "Justin Bieber reaches back to the perfect biggest heart that he wishes he still had. That's the ideal. That's what we all wish we could recover... or at least imitate. And that's what we have to defend and protect in the hearts of our children."
Last but not least, Purpose, the album name. This song is simply about his relationship with "God".

Justin also released, "been you","get used to it","we are","trust" and "all in it" on the deluxe version. Usually when an artist release extra songs on their deluxe album, their not good. This is not the case with purpose deluxe. Every one of these songs should've been on purpose, there was no need for a deluxe version.

Purpose is well produced. You cannot deny that. The lyrics are amazing especially in his more ballad like songs. This is one of those albums I don't skip through. There is no song I dislike off of purpose. Life is worth living is my favorite, also no pressure>no sense.

You can’t hear The Feeling in his voice, which is still one of the most infectiously beautiful in the industry, because as his faith has saved him from his pain, his production team has saved his voice from Justin. It makes for a series of unbeatable mainstream and crossover singles, and a desensitized, unnerving album.
