The other girls really can't compare. Next level **** right here. Bars and flow on top of bars and flow. My only issue is the lack of cohesiveness, and maybe the excessive amount of tracks.

Nel complesso mi è piaciuto molto, soprattutto "Come See About Me", dove Nicki utilizza la sua voce in un modo fantastico. Alcune tracce un pò troppo lunghe, ma ci sta. Il suo miglior album però per me resta The Pinkprint

Now... when this album first came out, I was sceptical and did not enjoy it, hence giving is a 2 rating. However, five year later and this album has aged like fine wine. Nicki's verses are so clever yet sharp. There is a reason why she has had so much longevity in her career. Nicki we love you lyricism and unapologetic confidence that you give in your songs!

Queen is an album that feels more like a look back at her past success, without the dreaded Nicki Minaj filler tracks. As she matures as an artist, she updates her music style to mesh with 2018 rap music.

    1. Ganja Burn, a story of what she did and how she felt during her hiatus from music. 10/10 2. Majesty ft. Eminem & Labrinth, Nicki and Em never disappoint with their flows 8/10 3.

    6. Bed ft. Ariana Grande, this "pop song" sounding song is good but it feels wrong on the album 8/10
    7. Thought I Knew You ft. The Weeknd, I personally don't like the song but The Weeknd helps it 7/10

    17. Miami, this song is what I like to hear from Nicki. Her flow is unreal. 10/10
    18. Coco Chanel ft. Foxy Brown, a different sound for Nicki but Foxy delivers a great verse 8/10
    19. Inspirations Outro, its really apart of Coco Chanel and not another song 7/10

Standout Songs are Ganja Burn, Barbie Dreams and Chun-Li

Overall: 8.5 (rounded up to 9) this was a huge upgrade from The Pinkprint but didn't top its best song, Feeling Myself ft. Beyonce. Nicki did great with her new project and it deserves the praise it is getting.

Track “ Come see about me “ what is quite surprising she sounds amazing. Like no other album, slight autotune tune but it’s nothing like a T-pain. The tracks are fun, there some gems that are just straight spitting genius, like #Minajesty ft Emenim, HARD WHITE where she declares her Crown back and makes it clear that if and anyone ever puts it on again it WILL be Knocked off. A track called #LLC takes the cake when it comes to rap Battle. Nicki came and she Did what she had to do! TRACK 17: #MIAMI Ever wanted to know to what’s it like being one of the biggest Drugs lords in a city that demands /.. well sit down sm*ke a bl**t and think Grand theft Auto MIAMI because Nicki Minaj executes this with slick Lyrics, sexy , Cocky Flow very catchy , Never to fall short of her witty and catchy Barz “ just the other day I was in MIAMI/ got the low low on perks /low low on them zannies / **** know my **** petty I ain’t talking Manis / pull up with a lot of boddies don’t forget the addy/ when i run up in the town I ain’t chitty Chatty/ got some real pretty **** that’s come w a fatty /too much money I ain’t never need a sugardaddy / I’m the bell of the ball you can call me pattie “ then an Iconic Dance Hall Sample ft FOXY Brown to close the show.. but let’s talk about when beat drops Nicki’s bars are clear , boisterous and in your face! Oh and don’t for get the Dance..
Great body of work. Some may say it isn’t coheisive but I have to disagree nothing on this album is same. Each track stands out in ways that one may say it’s not in order but how can it be order on creativity and #BOLDNESS each track is so unique. It’s sticks out. It’s a rap art Masterpiece. Easily #Grammy worthy !

Though I'm unsure where it stands in her catalog, Queen surpassed expectations. As a result of her sometimes confusing rollout and the stark difference between official singles "Chun-Li" & "Bed", I was unsure of which direction Nicki would take for her 4th swing at the bat. Not as confessional as 2014s The Pinkprint, Queen sees her sharing aspects of her personal life while also keeping the braggadocios swagger about her that fans have come to love. The Mike-Will-Madeit produced "Good Form" will definitely pick up where "Anaconda" left off, while tracks like "Run & Hide" are reminiscent of "I Lied". Nicki Minaj's Queen is a very good album indeed. The album proved her talent and secured her place as one of the elites of rap. All of the tracks from Ganja Burn until the last all have the potential to be very good individual songs. However, there are some honest downsides. The album is not that cohesive, featuring tracks that do not go with each other very well. For example, I believeNicki Minaj's Queen is a very good album indeed. However, there are some honest downsides. The album is not that cohesive, featuring tracks that do not go with each other very well. For example, I believe that Bed featuring Ariana Grande and Rich Sex featuring Lil Wayne should have instead been released as individual songs as promo for the album instead of putting it in the album itself. Also some songs like Chun Swae, while very good, are too long. Nicki should have made it a bit shorter and removed the unnecessary adlibs at the end or at least shortened it. Also, she should have collated the R&B and Rap into separate sides like Drake or at least removed the songs that don't classify with either and released as individual songs. Overall though, while not her best (I still believe that The Pinkprint is her best album), this is a very good album that showcases her lyrical and musical prowess. She's finally realized and understood what it takes to make a great rap album: embracing rap as a genre.

Nicki's prior albums were a seesaw game of playing with the idea of rapping but keeping her feet in R&B, Pop, Electronic, and other water she wasn't fit to swim in. Water she felt unnatural in. Queen is unapologetically embracing the roots of rap with hard-hitting beats and boom bap drums, complete with just the right amount of soft singing that Nicki is actually good at (rather than going hard for some pseudo-singer track full of autotune and shaky pitch) and some varied flavor like reggae, which Nicki is very familiar with.

People will tell you this album is overrated. They'll write it off because it's easy to. Because for a long time Nicki Minaj was a mainstream rapper who was getting by on everything BUT rapping. But, and this is the first time I've ever felt this way, Nicki Minaj has made a great album. One worth listening to. One worth being open-minded with and giving a try. Because right now, this is one of the best rap albums of 2018, and it's probably going to stay that way when the year is over.

8.5/10. Even though it is a rollercoaster, seeing that it absolutely thrives at some points, but nearly falters at others, there is no denying that "Queen" is one of the best records the well-deservedly-earned-title Queen of Rap Nicki Minaj has ever created. The production is just incredible: it's so diverse from tropical beats to gangster sounds to a lot of basses that'll drop you to your8.5/10. Even though it is a rollercoaster, seeing that it absolutely thrives at some points, but nearly falters at others, there is no denying that "Queen" is one of the best records the well-deservedly-earned-title Queen of Rap Nicki Minaj has ever created. The production is just incredible: it's so diverse from tropical beats to gangster sounds to a lot of basses that'll drop you to your knees (I guess that's why it's called "Queen"?), and Minaj is at the top of her game with her lyricism and her bar spitting. The album opens pefectly with 'Ganja Burns' on which Nicki confidently asserts: "You can't wear a Nicki wig and then be Nicki", among other preaches she throws, and then moves to 'Majesty' which definitely feels like it's so in-cohesive that it feels like it was on purpose, but could've used much less Eminem material and a much reduced running time nevertheless. The album keeps leveling things up, with songs like the hard-hitting 'Barbie Dreams', instant-banger 'Hard White' and the Lil Wayne-assisted 'Rich Sex', and then things start to falter a little after that: 'Thought I Knew You', even though well-produced and enjoyable, feels like a filler track, and the Weeknd is utterly useless on the song, and 'Chun Swae', which is also very-well produced and performed, could totally use a much lesser duration than its 6 minutes run. Then the album takes off again with bangers such as 'Chun-Li', absolute highlight 'LLC', and even we get to see soft vulnerable singing Nicki on other highlight 'Come See About Me', which is an instant earworm. The only misstep that remains is a weak song towards the end of the album: the Future-collab 'Sir' is somewhat boring, and feels like it was solely made for the two artists to have more songs to sing together at their joint-tour starting next month.
That being said, the whole 19-songs pack is very cohesive, and very well put together, and Minaj's rapping and delivery are enough to keep her on her throne where she belongs.

I'm a Nicki super fan, but even taking that hat off I can say the album is fire. 'Ganja Burns' and 'Hard White' have some of the best verses of her career. 'Coco Chanel' will make your speakers (and ears) burst with glee from the insane beat and hard bars. Then put on 'Sir' with Future for a completely different delivery. And if you like softer Nicki, 'Come See About Me' will be your jam.

Is the album perfect? Of course not. Chun Swae is too long, and a few others (i.e. 'Run and Hide') haven't grown on me yet.

After 4 years and sky high expectations, I am thrilled with the results. Easily the tightest wordplay of her career, great production value, and 17 songs to choose from. Excellent.

She has remixed the “Dreams” track from Biggie and Lil Kim and turned it into a modern version. This album, by the way, did feel rushed. It felt like Minaj had to scramble a couple of different sounding tracks in order to produce an album she has promised to release for four years. She also attempted to adapt to the modern trap sound, and for my personal preference, I dislike the analogousness of trap music since it’s the same recycled beats implemented for every song we hear.

She exerted her R&B moments which I enjoyed, with the “troubled relationship” vibes coming from tracks such as “Come See About Me” and “Run and Hide.”
She raps cockily about her skills and achievements in tracks like LLC, and collaborated with another female New York MC: Foxy Brown, on the melodic, bassy instrumental of “Coco Chanel.” I am indeed one of Nicki Minaj’s biggest fans, so I was at least satisfied with the fact that she had finally released an album. Could it have been better? Yes. Is it overall a horrible album? No.

And as I see some of the biased, hateful and uninformative reviews on here, I just want to comment that it is normal for a rapper to brag about their sexual encounters and other achievements career-wise and personally. Male or female. And not every rap song you hear has to have the same theme involving money, sex and drugs.

Overall, the album is a solid 8, maybe a 7.9. Nicki Minaj will continue to thrive if she takes her time and keeps pushing her pen, lyrically providing her fans with more creatively-worded puns and metaphors.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Nicki Minaj has improved greatly in terms of flow and lyrical quality. She is a great rapper. The album Queen also has great individual songs such as Ganja Burns, Majesty, Barbie Dreams, Chun Li. But the album as a whole is forgettable. There are so many passable songs that are just boring, yet still have quality lyrics.
So many songs try differing styles and yet don't capture who Nicki is. Nicki Minaj is best when she is doing music that is different than the norm (Truffle Butter, Anaconda, Superbass). So this album just has a series of songs that sound just like everything else in 2018. Even though it may lyrically be of higher quality the music ends up seeming mostly bland. I never got a great feeling of who Nicki is from this album instead it could be any pop star with this music. Compare it to albums like Lemonade and Dirty Computer where at the end you feel like you got to know the artist better and have a strong feeling of who they are.

So before I listened to this album, I briefly skipped through the previous 3 albums to see how far Nicki has actually come. Whilst her record sales have proven how much of a queen Nicki really is, it isn’t till you really start paying attention to detail between every album of how talented she actually is also.

If you look back onto Pink Friday, all the way back in 2010, compared to now, Nicki is a completely different artist. In a good way too. You listen to this album and you really can see how much she has matured in her music, and it’s safe to say that her humbleness really shows in her music too.

In terms of this album. Was it worth the 4 year wait? Absolutely. The Pink Friday, and the Roman Reloaded eras were really something special, because it was great to see a huge female rapper be celebrated and do so successfully in the way that she was and did. The Pinkprint was that bridge of channelling her old self but also trying to still be fresh without leading to astray from who she really is, but if you fast forward onto this album and that’s where things really change. I feel like now, we are getting the iconic Nicki. I feel this album is going to change the way people see female rappers in the music industry, and I feel like this is also going to change the way people see Nicki in the music industry. She took a complete risk with this album, because this album wasn’t what anybody was expecting. She kept her witty writing skills, and her own flow, but turned up the heat with the messages of the songs, and the sound.

With this album I feel it’s going to pave the way for so many young and upcoming artists not only in female rap, not only in hip-hop, but I feel a lot of people will look at this album and see Nicki as a beacon to not change who you are, keep doing what you’re doing, and one day, you could have this outcome of having this type of album, because even though I personally love all of Nicki’s albums, this is the first album where as a female rapper, I have seen maturity, time, wit, and a lot of dedication. Not that I never saw that before, but I felt like at times even Nicki didn’t know what type of female rap artist she wanted to be, and now she does, you see that reflection come out in her music, and that is inspirational.

This album will be looked back in the future as an album that helped define the future careers of female rappers and other artists in the future. Welcome back Nicki.

'Queen' also misses the approach, with Nicki singing about her feats and ownerships on almost every track, with only a few exceptions, as in the emotional "Come See About Me." For the album to really be worthy of a queen, Nicki would have to show all her sides, facets and demons, so we could realize that even out of the spotlight and megalomania, she's still royal. Nicki does the exact opposite, flipping open that she's a queen because she thinks she's awesome in 'Chun Swae'. The album is a success to consider, though. The album doesn't really build upon anything that was already in place but it does a good job of perfecting many different sounds and hip hop trends. 19 songs is entirely too long and rap artists need to stop doing that. It's a pathetic attempt at making more sales and making more money. She easily could've taken 10-13 songs from the album she released and had a really dope project. It's not really unlistenable at many parts but there are cringe worthy moments especially towards the beginning (Eminem trash verse is one of them). The pop moments towards the end are GREAT and it's reflective of the old Nicki. Don't expect this album to blow you away but it's a decent listen that her fans will enjoy.

Overall it was a long but enjoyable experience that I'd personally recommend to new listeners over her previous work. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The album “Queen” is Nicki Minaj’s latest album after the Pinkprint from 2014. It included truffle butter, a very good club song, and the iconic Anaconda, which is now almost at 1 Billion streams on YouTube. I am a very big fan of Nicki Minaj and I am a Barb. However, this album left me a little bit disappointed. With 19 different tracks on an album it seemed rather to good to be true. The album starts off with an African type Reggae beat song, Ganja Burn. The duration is 4:54, which is mostly the beat and stale lyrics at the end. Majesty takes the second track and is a good song with top notch lyrics. My favorite song of the album is Barbie Dreams which Nicki explains how the men in the rap game can’t get with her. I think it has very hard lyrics and I like how it has a creative ending to it. Rich Sex is very good on Nicki’s part but has a very strange Lil Wayne verse that doesn’t tie the song altogether well. The 5th song Hard White has outstanding lyrics, but you can tell Nicki is becoming lazy with vocals as there is a substantial amount of auto tone. So far, I was happy with this album, until all of these filler tracks come into play. Run & Hide, Miami, 2 Lit 2 Late interlude, Come See About me. These tracks showed a lot of disinterest in vocals and lyrics when played. If Nicki would have taken these songs out it would have been an awesome album. The songs I did enjoy were Chun-Ali, Barbie Tingz, LLC, and Good Form. Those 4 songs were outstanding and showed Nicki’s true talent with lyrics and writing. The problem with this album is that it seems that Nicki was too focused on her competition rather than her album. Her team seemed to be unprofessional as well when planning her songs such as, delays of songs, and the album. All in all, I give this album a 6/10. I definitely think Nicki can come back with a better album in the upcoming years, because she is the queen of rap and nobody takes her crown. Expand

As a HUGE Nicki fan, I can say with confidence that I feel this is Nicki’s worst album. Is it a terrible one? No, but out of all of her albums, this has the most skips and filler tracks. I hope she comes back with something better.

Its a very mixed bag for me. There are stand-outs but there are too many filler tracks are just too boring.

    The Good Songs:

    Ganja Burn
    Majesty ft. Labrinth and Eminem
    Barbie Dreams
    Bed ft. Ariana Grande
    Good Form
    Rich Sex ft. Lil Wayne
    Chun-Li
    LLC

    8/19 good songs. 50%, 5/10

Uninspired standard Nicki fare. One wonders how long she can continue to call herself queen if her music sounds less supreme with each new release.

Honestly her worst album. Her flow is killer at times, but the beats and production just aren't interesting at most times. The best songs are Ganja Burns and Chun-Li. I don't know, it just doesn't strike me as much as her old stuff did. She spends to much of the album talking about sex, how she's the GOAT, and sneak dissing. She calls herself the queen of rap however, the crown no longerHonestly her worst album. Her flow is killer at times, but the beats and production just aren't interesting at most times. A desperate effort to gain back the respect she once has in the hip-hop community. Did it work? Maybe, but in doing so she lost audiences who loved what she served on Pinkprint.

A little disappointed. Waiting four years it should be great but it seems like this was all done in a couple months. I thought we get to hear more personable tracks as to what she been going through for 4 years she took a break from making a another album. I hope the album does well but its not as good as pink print tho. Shine on nicki.

Nicki's Queen does not live up to it's title, showing little to no growth in 4 years. She continues to recycle the same things, about her body, about sex, about being the best female rapper in the game, without actually showing it.

The album itself seemed to be a shuffle of songs she recorded and just put out there, she's superficial saying if you're broke you're ugly in the song "rich sex" and then tries to be deep and sentimental in the song "come see about me", which looses the sentimental value to it.

Nicki is at her best when she is on the offense, and aggressive, which she shows glimpses of in songs like Barbie Dreams, Chun Li, LLC, Good Form, but on the rest of the album she plays it safe.

Unfortunately for Nicki she has lost the crown and will have to do A LOT better than this to earn it back.

On Queen, Nicki spends a lot of time ordering beheadings--which are fun, but get old quick--rather than showing us why she is and should be queen. Here's to hoping the next album gives us a more earnest, more raw glimpse of the head that wears the crown.

When Minaj leans into her untouchable strengths as a rapper, things get really exciting and an album of tracks as strong as "LLC" or "Barbie Dreams" would be one for the books. As it stands, however, Queen is another chapter of Minaj's good but largely meandering and inconsistent full-length album output.

Queen's title implies it's meant to function as a coronation for one of the biggest rappers ever, but it's more the sound of Minaj fighting to keep that crown on her head.
