Lil B's slower, more ruminative delivery here feels far braver for being more exposed and vulnerable. [Dec 2010, p.50]
  2. Dec 16, 2010
Rain in England, a therapy-session testimony that sounds like Soulja Boy having a Damascus moment in the champagne room over a beatless synth tide--is his least accessible.
  3. Dec 16, 2010
It turns out he's simply not the Nerd Messiah; he's creative and emotional and gifted, but at least right now, he'd do better making rap songs rather than ambient soundscapes.
  4. Dec 16, 2010
Much more attention-getting has been Lil B's ambient mixtape Rain in England, an effort which doesn't seek so much to invert hip-hop as to merely slander it.
  5. Dec 16, 2010
To all indications, Rain in England is irredeemably bad. This is what it sounds like when everyone fails to point out that an idea isn't worth indulging.
