It's that attachment to the Earth that makes Clams Casino's otherworldly hip-hop familiar enough to reach any true lover of beats.
  2. Jul 13, 2011
Rainforest feels like an artist confidently finding his niche.
  3. Rainforest is an EP and it does leave the listener wanting. It works as a sort of mini album, finding enough variable direction to point toward a future template for Clams Casino with a myriad of aural directions when he does decide to craft a full-length.
  4. Jan 13, 2012
An affecting, dreamlike, decayed din that incorporates voice samples twisted to such an extent that they sound sourced from torture victims and brokenhearted zombies.
  5. Aug 12, 2011
Clams is one rap's most distinctive producers, pushing his vocal collaborators to new emotional depths; but as an instrumental electronic producer, that choice is muddled by a sea of similarly charged chillwave types. [Jun 2011, p.60]
  6. Jul 13, 2011
It tends to, er, drag, but the producer's deft touch with wonky textures remains thrilling.
