not quite as good as hidden vagenda, but good enough. if you're looking for a dance beat or guitar solos, please, move along. but, if you want insightful lyrics about human relationships (lovers, mothers, friends), this is a goldmine. she sometimes delivers her message playfully (ive got instructions tattooed on my ass saying dont you put this body in casket.) and sometimes with not quite as good as hidden vagenda, but good enough. if you're looking for a dance beat or guitar solos, please, move along. but, if you want insightful lyrics about human relationships (lovers, mothers, friends), this is a goldmine. she sometimes delivers her message playfully (ive got instructions tattooed on my ass saying dont you put this body in casket.) and sometimes with urgency (my war paint is a sharpie pen). some of this album will make you smile for minutes, some will hit you like a fist. like all kimya albums, raw and honest. i love you, too, kimya! 1. OK, it all gets a bit samey in the middle section. But Jake Kelly adds some nice instrumental flourishes, and Dawson once again proves winning and convincing as a simple troubadour who’s not a simpleton.
  2. The music is so minimal that you won't return that often. But when you do, you'll remember she loves you.
  3. The musical portion of her songs... takes a distant second place to her lyrics. Which is fine, because her words are so engaging, but it wouldn't hurt her to experiment a little more with chord progressions or keys.
