Rhythm & Blues is a proper double album: each disc is notionally themed though, as you'd rightly expect, there's plenty of each. [Oct 2013, p.88]

Rhythm & Blues is a late career milestone that backs up all of the accolades Guy has ever received.

One Day Away, with Urban, is country-lite, but everything else is heavy with the weight of Guy's skill and experience. [Jan 2014, p.101]

It’s the sound of Buddy Guy, armed with his crooked smile and polka-dot guitar, reinforcing rather than reinventing what he has done. And it’s fun.

This phenomenal record testifies to the never-ending relevance of the Blues, as well as this man's permanent status as LEGEND. This album deserves to be heard, and hopefully gains the recognition of today's primarily blues-less crowd. Like a good wine, Buddy has gained further distinction and integrity with age, and like a good cheese, he's gotten even funkier too. This man is on fire. Full Review »
