Taken as a whole, S+@dium Rock ultimately feels less like a document of an historic homecoming event and more like the sort of bonus material that comprises the extra disc of a deluxe reissue.

While the band clearly have a penchant for aggressive guitar, shouted choruses and thunderous drums, there are also plenty of subtler moments on S+@dium Rock.

The five-night cherry-pickings are a fun listen, but Titus Andronicus need to make a descision: include properly ordered acts to squeeze the most out of The Most Lamentable Tragedy or include older hits to squeeze the most from a typical Titus Andronicus set. If the Jersey crew can make the slower numbers sound more amusing live, then maybe they can get back on track to find that original rebellion inside of them and, in turn, inside all of us.

"No Future V" and "Stable Boy" benefit from amping up the electricity and volume, which makes S+@dium Rock a solid TMLT companion piece but not a primary choice. [No. 134, p.61]

At times, the album sounds like the recording of a raucous house party as opposed to a live performance. Suitably, the recording quality means that the band are shown in their rawest state, but Titus Andronicus was a band that thrived off of that kind of energy, anyway. ... Still, it’s hard not to want more from S+@dium Rock.

With S+@dium Rock, Titus Andronicus have managed to create a live record that says everything and nothing at the same time.
