JoshNMay 6, 2007Even though many have said this album is much worse than their debut album "Almost Here," i would have to say that i completely disagree. TAI definitely took a step in another direction, but it was the right direction. It's much more like an arena rock sound, but it's still very catchy. William Beckett's voice is unforgettable. Go get this album!

[Anonymous]Jun 18, 2007Great album. The whole thing is pretty good but neighbors, seed, and Big mess on our hands are all amazing.

JesusMay 14, 2007I disagree with the harsh reviews Santi has received... I truly believe it's an amazing album... The songs are catchy and enjoyable!

MoniqueMay 19, 2007A breath of fresh air! Not sure if "the scene" is ready for this new sound but this CD is a breakthrough from the monotony.

GraceLApr 28, 2007This record to me is much better than there last. The songs are individually better and each member of the band has seemed to mature over the course of the past two years. On a whole, it has an edgier sound than their first LP and there are some very catchy melodies interspersed throughout the whole album. Even though I enjoy listening to it, there's always room for improvement.

EinarJ.May 4, 2008Decent. The first 4 tracks, 'Seeds' and 'Neighbours' are the only standout tracks, but they didn't change my world. Dissappointing "comeback", since their debut was extremely catchy.

NikkiGApr 30, 2007As boring as it is stupid... you can instantly know that a band will be bad if they see Fall out Boy and Panic! as their superiors... boring

TJWMay 18, 2007A complete and utter disappointment. Not even worthy of a one.

AceJul 4, 2007Unimaginative & stupidly boring!

An enjoyable next step for the Academy Is..., this album shows that the guys are still growing, but maybe just starting to figure themselves out.
-
Alternative PressIt all works... simultaneously calling to mind Fall Out Boy and Franz Ferdinand. [May 2007, p.158]

While the lyrics are strictly study-hall (“I’m no gentleman/I can be a prick” = poetry!), TAI… separate from the emo wolf pack by cribbing furiously from ’70s rock.
