The resulting Scream may not win any awards for brain cell power as far as titles go, but the 11 tracks contained within find the Prince of Darkness in fine form.

Most impressively, Osbourne's new band displays a tempo-shifting aptitude similar to vintage Black Sabbath.

That Scream ultimately fails to scale the heights of 'Blizzard Of Ozz' or 'Sabbath Bloody Sabbath' is a given but the fact that this collection sounds far better than anyone would expect at this stage in the game will go someway to re-establishing the perception of who Ozzy Osbourne is and what he really does.

The Dark Lord of Rock and famed mumbler sounds strong - and intelligible! - on Scream.
