Quite different from the last album (Writer's Block), Seaside Rock is the band trying to create something more grown-up. That's not what happened, but still they have created wonderful instrumental tracks, each one has its essence. Some of them even remember Durutti Column

While this album may not be what you'd expect for PB&J, as it was something I certainly wasn't, it's a really nice album to listen to. I'd say that this album is best listened to in more of a relaxed setting, a place where you can enjoy nature, wind down, and take in the music. 1. There’s nothing outstandingly terrible about Seaside Rock, but that’s what ultimately makes it kind of boring.
  2. This is a collection of instrumentals that, when fully peeled back, reveal beauty within, and are fit to grace many a chill out collection. It's just a shame that they stop frustratingly short of revealing more personality, which vocals would have achieved.
  3. Wait till you hear 'Norrlands Riviera', the best thing Belle and Sebastian never did. Blissful.
