  1. Wait till you hear 'Norrlands Riviera', the best thing Belle and Sebastian never did. Blissful.

They've come up with a non-vocal album that surprises and delights. [Nov 2008, p.112]
  3. As beautifully assembled as parts of Seaside Rock are, a couple of genre-specific tracks underscore its stopgap nature.

The results are comprehensively bemusing, but Swedish is an exquisitely lulling language to listen to, and so the whole effect is oddly hypnotic. [Nov 2008, p.118]
  5. This is a collection of instrumentals that, when fully peeled back, reveal beauty within, and are fit to grace many a chill out collection. It's just a shame that they stop frustratingly short of revealing more personality, which vocals would have achieved.
  6. Seaside Rock amounts to a log of underhashed production ideas from the test kitchen.
  7. There’s nothing outstandingly terrible about Seaside Rock, but that’s what ultimately makes it kind of boring.

That's not what happened, but still they have created wonderful instrumental tracks, each one has its essence. Some of them even remember Durutti Column Expand

While this album may not be what you'd expect for PB&J, as it was something I certainly wasn't, it's a really nice album to listen to. I'd sayWhile this album may not be what you'd expect for PB&J, as it was something I certainly wasn't, it's a really nice album to listen to. I'd say that this album is best listened to in more of a relaxed setting, a place where you can enjoy nature, wind down, and take in the music. This album will be strange to some, with it being completely instrumental, but if you're fine with that, you can come to appreciate the tranquillity and beauty this album has to offer. Expand
