superb. frusciante should be the lead songwriter of the peppers, although there is a chance that anthony's singing will just ruin these lovely tunes.

This album is astounding, the lyrical depth and musical creativity knocks me down. With songs like Regret and The Slaughter, this might be one of Frusciante's strongest albums

A spiritual journey of self reflection provoked by a beautiful musician who was clinically dead. He is a miracle.

This album is a masterpiece. Lyrically and musically it is close to perfection. Hardly surprising given that John wrote the guitar part for Under the Bridge. Lennon and McCartney would have been proud to have written these songs - but they didn't.

Shadows is an absolutely incredible album, full of beauty, intelligence and soul. Shadows Collide With People is the album where Frusciante really seems to have honed in his creativity and sharpened his sound to deliver a sound that is both breath-taking and beautiful. While still staying true to his other work, 'Shadows' can be seen as the re-invention of Frusciante's sound rather than the rebirth.

Mindblowing! The only reason I picked this album up was to support the guitarist of my favorite band, the chili peppers. John is one of my favorite guitarists/songwriters ever and this album is a fair representation of his skill levels as a solo artist. My favorite song would have to be song to sing when I'm lonely because it's a really catchy song with awesome lyrics. Overall great album.

Really awesome - a great album - Frusciante is one of the greatest musicians of this decade. I would give it a 10 except I prefer his albums that were recorded with 1 or 2 takes on each song (i.e. The Will to Death, Inside of Emptiness, Curtains and Automatic Writing).

So full of wonder, beautil album, from a genius. Frusciante is perfect in this album. The best album you can hear. Here it is what I call perfection. The best songs I've ever heard, his work is full of talent, he fills every space with sounds that complete each other. Is a success not because of the money, but because of the music.

Probably the best album by John Frusciante, although this is difficult to define, but the sentiments conveyed in Shadows Collide With People represent a sincere expression of an artist committed to making his art, regardless of standards or what goes that. One of my favorite albums of all time.

Many of the songs here could be Peppers tracks, except for the absence of Anthony Kiedis's vocals. [Apr 2004, p.128]
  2. Mainstream, bleeding-heart balladry, tempered by slightly outre arrangements.
  3. Full of a lush, bubbling beauty that proves Frusciante's personal rehabilitation has taken his music further than ever.
